Advisories are being ignored across North Wales, with safety risks rising as a result.
Transcript
00:00Drivers across North Wales are being urged not to ignore MOT advisories as they risk
00:05serious consequences on the road.
00:08In rural parts of the region, from Anglesea to Bala, potholes and weather-worn surfaces
00:12increase the likelihood that small issues flagged at MOT become major faults.
00:18RAC research shows one in six drivers who fail to act on advisories end up suffering
00:23a breakdown or worse.
00:25While tire wear and suspension issues are often listed as minor at the time of testing,
00:30mechanics warn these are the same problems turning up in roadside callouts just weeks
00:35later.
00:36In North Wales, the Welsh Government logged more than 3,000 road traffic collisions last
00:41year, with nearly 100 fatalities.
00:45That is why mobile mechanics are now covering towns like Wrexham and Llandudno, aiming to
00:49help drivers act sooner.
00:52say if something shows up in your MOT, you should not ignore it.
00:56They say book it in, get it fixed and stay safe.
00:59Before the
01:13pause.
