00:00Meet Omolewa Iberet Mulu. She's a nurse, a midwife and a dreamer. But today she's
00:07not in scrubs, she's on a different kind of mission. Omolewa is on her way to the
00:12German language school, the first step in her goal of moving to Germany.
00:17Because I learnt they need more health workers there and if I'm there I'm going to expand myself
00:24educationally, culturally and also otherwise. I'm in level B2 in my German language.
00:30Germany faces a significant shortage of healthcare workers largely due to its
00:35aging population and the decline in local workers. That's where people like Omolewa
00:40come in, young, skilled and ready to step up. But it all starts with mastering the German language.
00:46The motive behind the establishment of this institute is just to make people internationally
00:51relevant. You understand? So, and also bridging up between the culture, African culture and also
00:57the German culture. And it's working. Dozens have already made the move. Omolewa hopes to be the next.
01:04While others head home, Omolewa stays behind. She plugs in her headphones,
01:09opens her notebook and continues practicing. I hope for the future when I arrive in Germany is
01:15number one. It's to further my education today and also to also bring up a family there too. Because
01:24I would love to bring up my family there, like sitting down there too.
