00:01A year after the arrival of the forced Kayan police contingent in Haiti, top ASEAN and UN officials gathered in Port-au-Prince on Thursday to commemorate the milestone and reaffirm their commitment to restoring peace in the gang-ravaged Caribbean nation.
00:18A critical role the MSS mission plays in providing operational support to the Haitian National Police by building its capacity through the planning and conduct of joint security operations as it works to counter gangs and improve security conditions in Haiti.
00:38Force commander of the mission began his remarks with a moment of silence for ASEAN and Kenya officers.
00:45We are aware of the fact that the journey towards lasting peace is not always easy. It is complex and challenging.
01:01However, with continued support, commitment and collaboration, I firmly believe that we can build Haiti where conflict is replaced by tranquility and the Haitian people can try.
