00:06When the temperature soars
00:08the outdoor attractions like
00:10the Central Florida Zoo and
00:12Botanical Gardens really ram
00:14things up to keep their customers
00:16and the wildlife cool. Now we
00:18went out and took a look at some
00:20other star attractions. We saw
00:22PJ the Rhino. He is a great horn
00:24rhino that got a wonderful bath
00:26in that Florida heat. These animals
00:28are doing some refreshment exercises
00:30that help keep them cool in the
00:32summer months. We also saw many
00:34folks trying to grab some shade
00:36as they were out and about enjoying
00:38the zoo during those peak hot
00:40hours and there are a lot of things
00:42that can be done that you can keep
00:44yourself safe while you're enjoying
00:46the weather and these outdoor attractions.
00:48We have cups of water available
00:50at our concession stations if you do
00:52need to hydrate and we have all of
00:54our concession treats as well.
00:56For our staff we have a buddy system
00:58so we have a buddy that's our
01:00hydration buddy and we remind each
01:02other during the day to make sure
01:04that you're drinking enough water
01:06because we are out here in the elements
01:08eight, nine hours a day and it can
01:10get very hot and very exhausting.
01:12Now the team here at the Central Florida
01:14Zoo carefully crafts the exercises
01:16for these animals to make sure that
01:18they're engaged, that they're not staying
01:20out in the heat too long, but also
01:22there's plenty of opportunity to stay cool
01:24as well. There are hydration stations
01:26strategically placed throughout the park
01:28and also you can enjoy the splash pad
01:30one of the other very popular items
01:32here at the Central Florida Zoo.
01:34Kids and adults alike can cool off
01:36in the Central Florida heat.
