In Senate floor remarks, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) discussed the closed-door Iran strike briefing.
Transcript
00:00Mr. President, I just left the classified all senators briefing with the administration on
00:05Iran strikes. One thing is very, very clear. The briefing raised more questions than it answered.
00:12It's why we need to enforce the War Powers Act. I've always been clear, Iran must never acquire
00:20a nuclear weapon. And a few days ago, President Trump claimed that Iran's nuclear program was
00:25totally and completely obliterated. I asked what information exists to verify the president's
00:33claim, and I did not receive an answer to that question. What was clear from today's briefing is
00:38that there is no coherent strategy, no end game, no plan. What are we doing? Anybody who sat in that
00:49meeting and is honest with themselves would recognize that we need to enforce the War Powers
00:54Act and force the administration to provide answers to some very important questions about
01:00Iran and our national security. When the administration is forced to answer questions, we'll get more
01:06clarity, and maybe they'll get more clarity, too. So it's an important thing to do.
01:12Let me tell you.
