00:00Let's turn to tonight's Get Real India story. Education doesn't come easy for many students in Andhra Pradesh's Solubungi area.
00:08Each day brings risk as students undertake a rough journey crossing the Raiwada Canal in a boat and then navigating dense forest terrain just to attend class.
00:19Here's a report with more details. Get Real India.
00:30Where roads disappear on a whim and rivers dictate your daily routine, the path to education is nothing short of test for survival.
01:00This is Solubungu, a village in Andhra Pradesh where going to school is a distant dream.
01:09And the fight to learn begins with a boat ride, continues with a trek and is completed with unshakable grit.
01:16Every day these children risk their lives crossing the Raiwada Canal and trekking nearly 4 kilometers through dense forests and steep hills just to attend class in the neighboring Tamarabba village.
01:3946 members are in the same place.
01:45That's why 12 members are in the same place.
01:498 kilometers are in the same place.
01:52They are actually in the same place where they are in the same place.
01:54They are not in school.
01:56They are in the same place where they are in school.
01:58So the road is custom to build a road facility.
02:02It is not just the case for the 16 families of Solubongu.
02:10The same cry echoes from the five nearby hamlets, all demanding a school or even a basic training centre in their own village.
02:32A sanctioned road project under NREGS is stuck in red tape.
02:54And while basic amenities like electricity have reached this village, education is still a pipe dream.
03:02In a state aiming for digital classrooms, these tribal children are still waiting for a classroom of their own.
03:32Is this going to be a distant reality or something that the children and the parents likewise can expect in the near future?
03:42All that they are asking for is simple demands, a proper road for transportation and education for their children.
03:50Not too much of an ask.
