00:00I'm off to see the wizard.
00:01Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:03And today, we're counting down our picks for the clues in the Wicked For Good trailer
00:06that hint at how the film might veer down a different yellow brick road
00:10from the one we follow in the stage musical.
00:12This is between us, the wizard, and I.
00:15We will be discussing plot points, so this is your spoiler warning.
00:19Number 10. Girl in the Bubble.
00:21Some time ago, we learned that in For Good,
00:24each of our leading ladies would get a new original song.
00:27It's good to see me, isn't it?
00:29Glinda's is reportedly called Girl in the Bubble.
00:32Ariana Grande shared that it comes during a, quote,
00:34pivotal moment in Glinda's journey, and one that we don't get to see on stage.
00:39We're guessing this might mean that we'll see how she steps into the role of Glinda the Good,
00:44the real story, one that contrasts with Madame Morrible's version of events.
00:48When you bowed before his throne, he decreed you'd hence be known
00:52as Glinda the Good officially.
00:56Some trailer shots, like Glinda putting on her tiara or walking to her bubble,
01:01might be from this number.
01:03Either way, it's clear we're meeting a very different Glinda from the one we met in Part 1.
01:08I have been changed for you.
01:12Number 9. The flashbacks.
01:15In the first trailers, we caught glimpses of moments we couldn't quite match up with anything from the stage musical.
01:20The film didn't explain all of them, but we've since learned they're from a series of flashbacks.
01:25Our paths did cross.
01:38At school.
01:39At least one of those shots shows up again in the For Good trailer.
01:43In Part 1, we saw it briefly as Glinda remembers her friendship with Elphaba,
01:47so we're guessing this image is once again from her memories.
01:50But you must understand, it was a long time ago.
01:54The film already explored their bond more deeply than the stage show ever could.
01:58Now, with both women in very different places,
02:01this flashback feels like a bittersweet nod to what they had and how much has changed since.
02:06I know I'm who I am today
02:09Because I knew you
02:12Number 8. Madam Morrible conjures up a storm.
02:17Quite late in the stage version, we, along with Glinda,
02:20learned that Madam Morrible is the one who conjured up the tornado that brought Dorothy to Oz.
02:24You listen to me, missy.
02:27You may have fooled the rest of Oz with this anti-good routine.
02:31I know better.
02:32You wanted this since the beginning!
02:35Now you're getting what you wanted.
02:37So just smile and wave!
02:39Don't forget, weather is her specialty.
02:42However, surprisingly, this twist appears to be revealed in the trailer,
02:45with Madam Morrible seemingly casting a spell by a window where a tornado can then be seen.
02:50The Wicked Witch can't elude us forever.
02:53And while we're on tornadoes, that's not the only one in this trailer,
02:56suggesting, perhaps, the larger storm that lies ahead.
03:00Still, given how this plot point is a pretty major reveal in the stage version,
03:04we certainly didn't expect to see it shown so openly, and so soon, in the trailer.
03:09It's you!
03:11You're behind all of this.
03:13Number 7. Glinda's Wonderful Time
03:16There's a brief, almost-blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment
03:19where Elphaba, Glinda, and the Wizard are dancing together in the palace.
03:23Like many Wicked fans, we think this shot is from Wonderful,
03:26where the Wizard tries to woo Elphaba into joining forces once again
03:30while explaining how he became the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
03:33It feels wonderful.
03:36They think I'm wonderful.
03:39Hey, look who's wonderful.
03:41But hang on a clock-ticking moment.
03:45We don't recall Glinda being there for that.
03:48Doesn't the Wizard deliberately clear the area, so it's just him and Elphaba?
03:52In fact, it's so much who I am.
03:55It's part of my name.
03:57And with my help, you can be the same.
04:01Having Glinda present changes a lot.
04:04We're intrigued to see what her role is in this scene, if that's what it is.
04:08Needless to say, Elphaba doesn't seem to buy into his monkey business for long.
04:16Number 6. That Outlaw Life
04:18Toto, we don't think we're at shiz anymore.
04:21While the show only really shows us Madame Morrible offering Elphaba sorcery tuition,
04:26Part 1 takes us into the classroom,
04:28opening an important connection between Elphaba's emotions and her powers.
04:32Remarkable.
04:34Absolutely remarkable.
04:35Once you learn to harness your emotions,
04:42the sky's the limit.
04:43It looks like For Good will follow suit,
04:45giving us more insight into her life in exile.
04:48Sure, we get hints of this in No Good Deed,
04:51but here we seem to actually watch Elphaba grow into her powers.
04:55She also seems to hold on to mementos that reflect her past and present.
04:58From what we've seen so far,
05:00these extended scenes aren't just filler or fluff,
05:03so we're betting Elphaba's new home still has plenty to offer.
05:06There's no going back.
05:11This is between us, the wizard, and I.
05:14Number 5. The Balcony Reunion
05:16In the show's second act,
05:18Elphaba and Glinda don't exactly start out as besties.
05:21Without spoiling too much,
05:22their first onstage interaction happens
05:24right after Glinda sends Dorothy skipping down the yellow brick road.
05:28How do I start for Emerald City?
05:30It's always best to start at the beginning,
05:32and all you do is follow the yellow brick road.
05:35However, the trailer's opening moments show a different reunion.
05:39We get only a quick glimpse of Elphaba,
05:41but Glinda's reaction tells us something has changed between them.
05:45Something is not the same.
05:46Elphaba Throb, I know you're out here.
05:49Just come in before the monkeys spot you.
05:57Rumor has it this moment comes from Elphaba's brand new song.
06:00We're still waiting on a confirmed title,
06:02but Cynthia Erivo, who co-wrote it,
06:04says it, quote,
06:05speaks to the heart of who Elphaba is,
06:08and had the team fighting back tears.
06:10Time to start stocking up on tissues, we think.
06:13Is it a ballad? Is it upbeat?
06:14Surely you're singing.
06:15So Ari and I both have new songs in it.
06:18Stephen Schwartz wrote two new songs,
06:19and we did some collaboration on it.
06:21So we're definitely singing.
06:22Number four, what happens to the animals?
06:26We all know Elphaba's a fierce animal advocate,
06:29even if most of that work happens offstage.
06:31My heart's desire is for you to help the animals.
06:34Something bad is happening to them, and they need you.
06:36Since the events of Defying Gravity,
06:38she's been working tirelessly in the background,
06:41and it looks like the movie's finally bringing that to the forefront.
06:44The trailer gives us winged monkeys,
06:46animals fleeing a burning village,
06:48and, most strikingly,
06:50a full-on stampede in what looks very much like Glinda and Fierro's wedding.
06:54Don't worry, we'll get to that.
06:57It's the kind of moment that's hard to stage,
06:59but looks powerful on screen.
07:01And it could give Glinda yet another reason to turn on her former friend.
07:06That said, there's still one animal we're yet to see.
07:09They can take away my job,
07:11but I shall continue speaking out.
07:13Listen to me!
07:14You're not being told the whole story!
07:16Number three,
07:17an unfamiliar riff.
07:19While we get snippets of No Good Deed and For Good in the trailer,
07:22there's one soundbite we can't quite place from the soundtrack we know.
07:31Director John M. Chu is keeping his cards close to his chest,
07:35but we have to wonder if it comes from Elphaba's new song.
07:38Sure, it could be Erivo's take on No Good Deed.
07:40We all know she's going to sing the shiz out of that.
07:43And it's basically the next thing we hear in the trailer.
07:46Still, we're pretty convinced they're teasing us with the tiniest sliver of a song we're all desperate to hear.
07:55So, movie two, there might be some new songs you'll see, and that's exciting.
08:00He says, mate, this is entertainment tonight.
08:02Let's confirm this right now.
08:04And if it is tied to the balcony scene, it's the perfect placement.
08:09Number two, more Dorothy and her little dog, too.
08:13On stage, the most we see of Dorothy is as a shadow puppet tossing water at Elphaba.
08:18But from the first teaser, it seems clear she'll have a bigger role in the movie.
08:22And honestly, knowing who she surrounds herself with, we can't wait to see how it all connects.
08:27I thought, well, if we don't do a full production, we're not going to see how that world affects the storytelling.
08:33So far, the shots we've seen seem to mirror some classic Wizard of Oz moments,
08:37which makes us think they're saving the real surprises for later.
08:40You're up to see the wizards, the wonderful wizard of Oz.
08:44You find the edge of the wizard of witch, if ever a wizard of Oz.
08:47Also, remember how the heels of the silver slippers, now in Dorothy's possession,
08:51are shaped like a twister or a tornado?
08:53This time, we also see her stepping into a puddle.
08:56Honestly, must have been raised in a barn.
08:59If you know, you know.
09:00Bring me the broom of the wicked witch of the West.
09:04Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
09:08The mystery figures and the horses they rode in on.
09:11Is it Fierro? Is it Glinda? Or is it someone else entirely?
09:16We're guessing we're staying green until the film's release.
09:18You can't say I've been changed.
09:24Don't agree.
09:26More Dulcibear.
09:27Elfie and Nessa's sweet nanny appears to be back.
09:30Dulcibear is there on the platform and doesn't respond when spoken to.
09:35We actually see in the script, she purposefully shakes her head
09:38before Madame Morrible approaches and stays silent on purpose.
09:43I think if we had had this scene, there would be a greater chance
09:46that we would get some sort of resolution to her story in Wicked For Good.
09:50An encore for Wizzamania?
09:51Have the wizard's guards joined Wizzamania?
09:54Or will we get another surprise performance?
09:56The Wicked Witch can't elude us forever.
10:00Not with Prince Fierro and his squadron hot on her train.
10:03More poppies.
10:05Seems fitting for the wizard to be wearing poppies,
10:07given how he has all Oz asleep under his spell.
10:10No good deed goes unpunished.
10:14That's my decree.
10:17Under Construction, The Yellow Brick Road.
10:20This one calls back to part one rather than building on the show.
10:23The wonderful wizard of Oz.
10:26No one believes in you more than I did.

10:47Number 1.
10:48The Wedding That Never Was
10:50Fierro and I are getting married.
10:52Oh!
10:55He asked you already?
10:57Oh, he doesn't know yet.
10:57Since our very first look at the Wicked movie,
11:00we've been teased with images of Glinda in a wedding dress.
11:02Now, as anyone who's seen the show knows,
11:05Glinda and Fierro never actually make it down the aisle.
11:08In fact, their engagement barely lasts a song.
11:11You hear that?
11:12Water will melt her?
11:13People are so empty-headed they'll believe anything.
11:16Fierro!
11:17Oh, yes.
11:19Thanks plenty, dearest.
11:21He's gone to fetch me a refreshment.
11:23He's so thoughtful that way.
11:25Well, to Fierro, at least.
11:27In the new trailer, we see Glinda in a stunning wedding dress
11:30walking down the aisle toward Fierro,
11:32who looks like he'd rather be anywhere else.
11:35Like a car would pour for the morning
11:37as the house holds the sun.
11:40We all have our theories about what this could mean,
11:43but as Chu told Vanity Fair,
11:44quote,
11:45a wedding might up the ante for all parties involved,
11:48and it's harder to forgive certain things in certain scenarios.
11:51How scandal-acious.
11:53I'm scandal-ocious.
11:54Yeah, it is best those things, yeah.
11:56Did the 4 Good trailer leave you with any questions?
11:58Let us know in the comments.
12:00For a while there, I thought you'd changed.
12:03I have changed.
