00:00Ever thought about or even cared which egg wash is best? Because I do. I think about it a lot.
00:06So I'm testing out a whole egg. Just an egg yolk. Just an egg white. Egg white with some water.
00:12Heavy cream and butter. My least favorite. Definitely the egg yolk. I just don't like how
00:17thick it is. How yellow it is. It's unappetizing. I don't think I would have a recommendation to use
00:23just an egg yolk. The butter and the heavy cream don't have a lot of color to them
00:28but they're really good toppers for things like biscuits and scones. The butter especially
00:33for a biscuit. It will make it even flakier on top. Whole egg and egg white without water
00:39are my top two favorites. For most other things I would just stick with the whole egg. I think it
00:44works the best. It gives you the most amount of color and a good amount of shine and it's pretty
00:51even. If you beat that really well you should get an even coating. Sometimes you need to stick with
00:56the classics.
