Edinburgh Trams are unable to run along Princes Street following a police incident at around 6am on Wednesday, June 25.

The tram operator said: “We are running part route between West End and Edinburgh Airport in both directions only. Ticket acceptance is in place with Lothian Buses.”

A number of Lothian Bus services heading eastbound have also been impacted and are being diverted via Frederick Street, George Street and South St David Street. Lothian Buses said: “Due to increased traffic on this diversion buses are also subject to delays.”

Police were called to the scene opposite the Mound to a report of an unresponsive man on Princes Street. Emergency services attended, but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
