A message supposedly informing customers of India Post Payments Bank about blocking of their accounts has been received by many people. The message states the receiver's account at India Post Payments Bank has been blocked. The receiver is further asked to click on a link attached to the message and update his/her PAN card details to unblock the bank account. However, PIB Fact Check, the fact-checking unit of the central government, has debunked the message as "fake". India Post Payments Bank never sends any such messages, clarified PIB Fact Check in an X post on June 24.
