At her press briefing, Karoline Leavitt did not have an answer if President Trump will mark Juneteenth.
Transcript
00:00And the Europeans are meeting with the Iranians tomorrow, so we'll see how that meeting goes.
00:03Just one more on Juneteenth. Does the president plan to commemorate the holiday today or make any comment on it?
00:08I'm not tracking his signature on a proclamation today. I know this is a federal holiday.
00:12I want to thank all of you for showing up to work. We are certainly here. We're working 24-7 right now.
00:17Nikki, go ahead.
00:18Actually, that was my question. Will he plan to mark Juneteenth in any way, either today or with an event later on, maybe next week?
00:24Sure. I just answered that question for you. Go ahead.
00:26Thank you very much, Caroline. The fact that this president is giving some time and space for diplomacy, another two weeks,
00:33does it mean that the president is trying his best to avoid a direct conflict with Iran?
00:39I think the president has made it clear he always wants to pursue diplomacy.
00:43But believe me, the president is unafraid to use strength if necessary.
00:48And Iran and the entire world should know that the United States military is the strongest and most lethal fighting force in the world.
00:56And we have capabilities that no other country on this planet possesses.
01:00Owen.
