Esquire Philippines sat down with King Palisoc, director of award-winning "Song of the Fireflies," a film about the world-famous Loboc Children's Choir. It opens nationwide on June 25. #EsquirePHVideo

00:00It started with the producers, Kul Tertain, Musikat, Celeste Legazpi, Gurley Rodis, and Rachel Alejandro, producers of Ang Larawan.
00:09It was around the time that they were doing screenings of Ang Larawan in different provinces.
00:18And then when they had a screening of Ang Larawan in Bohol, the Lobok Children's Choir performed, and then they saw them.
00:27And then they were moved by the performance.
00:31They also discovered how the choir started and how it was founded by a public school teacher named Alma Taldo.
00:39And they inspired their story.
00:41It was about this group of kids who were formed by a public school teacher who had no classical back training on choir performance.
00:57All because she believed that these kids deserve the chance to perform and share their music.
01:08After that, they tapped me and Sarge to develop the story and to sort of dig deeper to the origin of the choir.
01:18It really started with that.
01:20The idea that the producers wanted to tell the story of this small town choir and how they made it big globally.
