If the title "Song of the Fireflies" sounds familiar, that's because the project started back in 2019, with a trailer released on January 1, 2020. Director King Palisoc reveals how the production was affected by the pandemic. And finally, it's showing in Philippine cinemas today. #EsquirePHVideo
00:00Then the pandemic happened and then all of a sudden, we didn't know what to do because there were so many factors that sort of hurdled the production.
00:16One, it was a coming-of-age youth film, meaning our cast was mainly comprised of kids.
00:27So, we weren't sure because of the restrictions, we weren't sure when we could go back into production.
00:35But at the same time, if we were back to production, we weren't sure if we were going to be able to get the same cast.
00:44Because by that time, it was set in the province, so the logistics of having to fly a production to Bohol was difficult in the time of the pandemic.
00:55Our resources were also depleting because we had already spent a portion of it in 2019 when we did the trailer.
01:06There were typhoons that happened, especially the big one that happened in Bohol, Odette.
01:13So, some of the locations that we had intended to shoot in were damaged.
01:20So, there were a lot of factors.
01:25So, there's a lot of factors that we got, and then we were able to find out of this area.
01:30So, some of the things that we could probably use, even though it was added to it, so.
01:31So, it was the two of the lockers.
01:32Now, we have to find the one for you.
01:34We're looking to do the same for you.
01:35So, let's try to find the same thing.
01:37Should we look at the kind of the one for you?
