Srinagar (J&K), June 24, 2025 (ANI): The scenic Kashmir Valley, known for its cool summers, is facing an unprecedented heatwave. With temperatures touching record highs, residents are struggling to cope as fans and coolers prove ineffective. Srinagar and other districts are witnessing extreme heat, forcing authorities to shut schools for 15 days. The Meteorological Department attributes the heatwave to the absence of western disturbances and dry weather conditions, warning that the situation may continue in the coming days. Vulnerable groups like children and the elderly are most affected.
