Residents in Rockhurst Drive, Eastbourne, are against houses being built on their communal garden.
Transcript
00:00Me and the rest of the residents that live around here are very upset about this small
00:08patch of green, which is small to the developer but means it's huge to us. People come here,
00:16they relax, they sit here, enjoy the peace and the quiet, the wildlife, there's plenty
00:22of wildlife here, children around here can play safely in this area, and it's a little
00:28bit of heaven, peaceful, quiet haven, and many people deliberately buy property and rentals
00:36up here, there's plenty of rentals up here, purely because of all the greenery, and that's
00:41what people are talking about, how green it is and lush and peaceful, everyone helps out
00:47with the wildlife here, and this sets a brilliant and wonderful atmosphere, everybody gets on
00:52with each other. You start getting these developers in that are going to start turfing all this
00:57up, where the heck are all these cars meant to go, all the car drivers are up in arms,
01:03there's nowhere to park now, you can't get round the bottleneck which is up there, that
01:07goes round to the back to Orkney flat, because there's no parking, so when these huge diggers
01:13and gardeners what turn up, where's everyone supposed to go, it's too small, it's too small
01:20here for houses, and we don't really want it, we want the peace and quiet.
01:23and quiet.
01:24and quiet.
