'Superman' lands in Manila  The lead stars and creators of the highly anticipated film 'Superman' arrive in Manila on June 19, 2025 to kick off the movie's global promotional tour, choosing the Philippines as the first stop in a string of international appearances. Writer, director and co-producer James Gunn led the delegation, joined by David Corenswet (Superman/Clark Kent), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), and Peter Safran, the film's co-producer and co-head of DC Studios. The fan event at the Mall of Asia's Music Hall gave attendees a preview of what's to come in the new Superman film, which will hit theaters and IMAX on July 9. 01:12Well, I think the thing that drew me, you know, is this is about a character who has goodness in his heart.

01:19He's in a world that isn't always so nice.

01:22And the most rebellious thing about it is that he's a good pure soul.

01:26And he is a character for the world, a character for the Philippines.

01:32And I just wanted to write about somebody, I'm actually used to writing about characters who are, you know, kind of crabby and have some issues.

01:43And this is about somebody who, yes, he's not perfect, but he's a really good guy.

01:48And I think he's the type of hope and guiding light in meeting this world today.

01:52And so I'm excited for all of you guys to feel that and the citizens on the July 9th.

01:58It truly, mistakenly represents our character.
