The plot of land known as the "Duta Enclave" belongs to the government, the Court of Appeal has ruled.

This came after it allowed an appeal on Tuesday (June 24) by the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Land Registrar in a dispute between the government and Semantan Estate Sdn Bhd (SESB), involving the land that spans 106.54ha.

00:00The plot of land known as the Duta Enclave belongs to the government.

00:08This follows the Appellate Court,
00:10allowing an appeal by the Federal Territory Registrar of Titles
00:14in a land dispute between the government and Samantan Estate,
00:18Sendirian Berhad as E as B.
00:21The land spans across 106.542 hectares,
00:25currently occupied by several government agencies and complexes,
00:29however, a three-judge panel chaired by Justice Lee Sui Seng,
00:34said that as E as B should be compensated for the land,
00:38with the compensation to be assessed by the High Court within 90 days with the assistance of experts.
00:45Justice Lee also said it was important to note that a High Court decision in 2009
00:51did not include any directive for the government to transfer the land back to as E as B.
00:57As E as B's lawyer, Cyrus Das told reporters that the company would be appealing the decision at the Federal Court.
