00:00Some players could be more comfortable.

00:03There's nothing that can stop you from playing different openings.

00:06Though, of course, you have to learn quite a lot.

00:09So you cannot play many sharp openings because then you have to do too much work

00:13and that would be probably counterproductive.

00:15But, for instance, if you play, say, Rui Lopez, so classical Rui Lopez,

00:22then there's certain positions there that you can study.

00:26So you can play, let's say, you can play Marshall Gambit after C3, D5.

00:41Or if White plays H3 or D3 or A4, so you can play this kind of refuse Marshall.

00:48For instance, Levonoronian has been playing it successfully,

00:56so it went all sorts of different positions.

01:00So if you play Rui Lopez, even if you play one that all classical is D6,

01:04you can have many choices.

01:07And nothing is going to ruin your position instantly.

01:11So there's so many ways you can play, you know, with Zaytsov, Bishop B7,

01:17or classical Cigordian with Knight A5.

01:20But if you play Sicilian, if you play Neidorf and you play Sveshnikov,

01:24then you have to work.

01:26So my recommendation, you can have one sharp opening

01:32if you have an appetite for practicing and learning,

01:37spending time with your computer and looking for some novelties,

01:42because you have to be well aware about new moves made by strong players.

01:47Because if it's a popular opening, something happens all the time.

01:49As we speak, you know, somewhere on our planet,

01:54chess players are testing these positions,

01:56and something else can happen before we end our conversation.
