00:00um I remember my legs just buckled underneath me um and I remember just kind of saying
00:09but she's okay she's going to be okay isn't she okay she's okay and
00:14Scott my husband couldn't say anything he he just said I'm sorry I can't we don't know we
00:20just don't know anything and then I remember being on the flight on the way home constantly
00:27checking in with my family making sure she was okay and then eventually landed uh on the 16th of
00:34February um at about two o'clock and went straight over to Brighton Hospital where she was um in the
00:40ICU to see her um and it was very surreal because when I walked into the ICU I don't know why but in
00:49my head I thought I've seen her she's okay she's going to be okay um and you know the surgeons
00:58the doctors so many people had said that she's really remarkable for what she'd gone through and
01:05how brilliantly she was doing I think about four five days in that's when we realized and we were
01:13told that there may be some damage to her spinal cord she'd had a number of strokes after the cardiac
01:20arrest um because her blood had also leaked in from her valve into her left side of her lungs
01:29so she'd lost a lot of blood she'd had a lot of starved vessels and um oxygen across her body
01:40predominantly a few strokes in her brain which luckily led to no kind of permanent damage and
01:46no brain damage but it did mean that uh her spinal cord was starved of oxygen um and we kind of were
01:54told that it's it's very unlikely that she would ever regain use of her legs again fully
