Taiwan's coast guard tracked a Chinese coast guard vessel that encroached on restricted waters near Dongsha Island, also known as Pratas Island, in the South China Sea. Taiwan dispatched two vessels to monitor the situation until the Chinese boat departed Sunday morning. Dongsha Island is one of two Taiwan-administered islands in the contested region and is also claimed by China.
