Gangtok (Sikkim), June 22, 2025 (ANI): Sikkim Democratic Front party leader and former Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling’s daughter Komal Chamling announced on June 22 that she has formally entered electoral politics.

00:00I started participating in politics in 2019 but I was mostly there in the background.

00:06But here on out I have decided to come fully into the forefront

00:11in the sense that I would not just limit myself to doing work in the background.

00:15So that was the idea of basically making the declaration that I did today.

00:19And I think especially today it is necessary to come forward because of the situation that Sikkim is in.

00:24It is not just about individual kind of my own evolution but looking at the state of Sikkim today

00:33I think it is very very necessary that youth who are educated and who believe in protecting the democracy that we have worked so hard for

00:42I believe it is important for people like us and people like me and youth who have a democratic mindset to come forward.

00:49And so that is basically why I said what I said.
