Donegal homes south west of Derry are ‘getting bog water, which is pure black’

00:00But I'm calling on the Department of Housing and Local Government and Heritage this morning

00:04to request further information under the Multi-Annual Water Programme 2024-25

00:10about a group water scheme in Lagan and County Donegal.

00:15The local authority returned the request for information to the Department on 6 February this year.

00:23We have yet not been provided with an update in relation to the application of the funding.

00:30So I just want to find out when is the funding due to be announced?

00:35Like these people are so frustrated about what's going on.

00:38This has gone on for over 20 years.

00:41This is bog water these people's getting.

00:43It's pure black.

00:45You know in this day and age there has to be some kind of a provision made here for emergencies

00:51for trying to get these people's group water schemes up and going.

00:55At the end of the day, you know, as far as the water, we need a good quality drinking water

01:00and we don't have it in this group water scheme and we don't have it in other places in Donegal too.
