00:00If we look at the MVP market at the FanDuel Sportsbook,
00:02are we surprised that the NFL MVP favorite is Lamar Jackson at a 5-1 price,
00:09followed by Josh Allen at a 6-1 price?
00:11Patrick Holmes also tied with Josh Allen at 6-1, as well as Joe Burrow at 6-1.
00:16Jaden Daniels, Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts, and away we go.
00:19Sometimes you can pinpoint, it's like an NBA.
00:21We know the good players are supposed to be barring injury here.
00:25Lamar Jackson as the favorite, Joe.
00:27Your initial thoughts on that?
00:30Yeah, well, of course he's the favorite.
00:32I think he's the favorite every year, is he not?
00:34It's him and Josh Allen.
00:38I'm a little more curious down the board here a little bit as, you know,
00:43what do we get from C.J. Stroud?
00:46Is it a bounce back?
00:47Does Justin Herbert now, with a year under the Harbaugh system,
00:51does he all of a sudden elevate his game with the Chargers?
00:55And, of course, Jaden Daniels on his sophomore year coming up here,
01:01and Washington poised to make some noise in the East.
01:04I think there's some value down the board.
01:07I'd be, is it just Lamar and Josh?
01:09And that's basically it?
01:11What has the AFC become then?
01:14Yeah, it's interesting, too, because Patrick Mahomes at 6-1 price,
01:17he's always going to be there.
01:18But I don't know if that offense is the same as, like, it was years ago,
01:22whereas Tyreek Hill, I'm going to throw 50 touchdown passes,
01:24come chase me down.
01:25Like, they play great defense in Kansas City,
01:27a multitude of different ways to beat you.
01:29And also, as Kevin Walsh always points out,
01:31it's an ugly brand of football.
01:33Like, Casey's like, ah, we'll score when we need to,
01:34as opposed to stretching you out 28-0 in the first half,
01:37like they had the ability to do just a few years ago.
01:40Joe Burrow at 6-1.
01:41You also have to weigh the price points, too.
01:42Like, the expectations, typically, for an MVP are great season by your quarterback,
01:47great season by your football team.
01:49But what constitutes a great season?
01:51Is that Lamar Jackson going 13-4, putting up great numbers?
01:53Or how about Joe Burrow, throwing for over 5,000 yards this year,
01:5745-plus touchdowns, but his team is fighting around 500
02:00and doesn't even win the division because Lamar Jackson
02:03and the Baltimore Ravens win that division.
02:05When you take a look at a guy like Joe Burrow at 6-1,
02:08you can anticipate a great statistical season,
02:10but does he get the extra bump if we don't think Cincinnati
02:13is as good as we think they are because they're losing games 35-34?
02:19Ultimately, it's all going to be a popularity contest anyway.
02:24Who garners the more headlines?
02:26And the interesting part with Burrow and Lamar is that, you know,
02:31we're going to get to see them go head-to-head a couple of times again this year.
02:34And usually, that influences voters one way or the other, like it or not.
02:40So, a lot of it can play out.
02:42I'm not tying up any of my money long-term for any of these,
02:46certainly 5-6 to 1.
02:49But maybe if you want to take a bomb there and think that a Stroud
02:54or Jared Goff or somebody, and if you like Detroit to win it,
02:58then who's the MVP if Detroit wins and runs the table?
03:01I'm going to look ahead We'll get it back.
03:02And then,
03:06you know,
03:18go head-to-head a little
03:20and relax.
