Thunderstorms in the afternoon will impact travel for cities in the northeastern U.S. on June 19, including New York City and Washington, D.C. Expect significant delays in the afternoon in that area.

00:00Well, let's travel, right? If you're going to the beaches, you might need to travel there.

00:03And the problems will be around New York City today, some of the worst of them.

00:06We've had some fog out there this morning. That's breaking up now, so I do think things are better.

00:10But you can tell the issues that we're dealing with through the afternoon are going to be the thunderstorms in the northeastern U.S.

00:16That's what creates the major delays. It's also what sets off most of our flight cancellations today.

00:21It's why they're up quite high. A typical day is between 1 to 300 flight cancellations.

00:25And you can see today is fairly exceptional.

00:27So expect the slowdowns. If you're flying today, especially through the afternoon in the northeast, it gets better into the weekend.
