Cllr McKay reacts to the news Park Wood and Senacre in Maidstone have been chosen by government as Trailblazer Neighbourhoods  and are set to get £20m grant for improvements in the community

00:00Well, obviously I'm delighted that Senacre, the area for which I'm a councillor in Maidstone,

00:07has been selected for a government grant. I hope very much that the community is involved

00:15in the spending of this money and has a say in how it was spent. To be honest with you,

00:24the notification came as quite a surprise to me. I wasn't expecting it. I don't think anybody

00:28was, but delighted we are. We, I say we, I'm talking on behalf of the residents of Senacre,

00:40hope that it will be spent wisely in Senacre and help social cohesion.

00:47One of the aspects of Senacre is that we don't have any sort of community centre, but

00:54good luck to Senacre. I hope very much we can work together and build a better community.
