01:33in great shape I think everyone was trying to keep up with him on the walkway the cameraman the

01:40well-timed right hand there from Jeffers just cannon into the side of
02:01Hemphill's head but Hemphill looks every inch what he is a very experienced fighter you can see how
02:06composed and relaxed he is in there
02:10I think he's doing everything right here Jeffers you know
02:36his guard's nice and tight he's keeping his jab nice and sharp good head movement

03:37Andy I've climbed all the steps to the very very top of the east stand and it is a beautiful view
03:46you get a real bird's eye view of the 4000 down on the pitch there that looks pretty much full
03:55the east stand which is filling up nicely and of course the other two stands that we're using the sun
04:01on the horizon is just dipping below the metrodome which sits on top of the hill
04:06and it is a brilliant brilliant view this is the perfect setting
04:11for Callum Simpson's main event European title chance coming up after Mark Jeffers
04:16he says he's walked up all the steps there Andy Scott but there's a lift isn't them actually another four
04:23but it is brilliantly set up this stadium
04:28he's talking about the sun I think he is lying
04:35but it's filling up all the time this place
04:38you can see people coming out of the stairwells out of the concourses into the seats
04:44as the rounds will tick by in this chief support
04:48I was going to say I think people will want to get out and get back to their seats towards this fight
04:52because I think this fight's going to catch fire at some point
04:56you say two quality operators you can see in the first round
04:59the level of thought processes that was going on
05:04Jeffers like I say he's a real solid fighter doesn't make many mistakes
05:09very patient seeing there having a look using the feints again

05:16he does block the jabs really well but sometimes he reaches for it which is a bit of a concern

16:14and some of it I think filling the sails of Mark Jeffers after his finish to that round, the final minute, he's just beginning there to walk through Hempel a little bit and he got to him, didn't he?
16:27Yeah, I think so. I mean, Hempel had his successes as well, but yeah, I think certainly towards the end Jeffers had the better of it.
16:36When you get into them rounds where you're just head on head and just throwing the big shots, that's when you tire yourself out.
16:44Skipping his knees, Jeffers, and throwing that right hand into the body.
16:52Trying to stay on Hempel here, tight guard, Hempel trying to work the body himself.
16:57But immediately Jeffers there is able to walk into quite close range, which is something that Hempel's managed to prevent him from doing up until this point.
17:09He's thrown that lead left hand back one-two and kept it just a little bit more on the outside.
17:14I think Jeffers fancies that he's the stronger man in there, that he hits the harder, so he's happy to make this a physical fight.
17:22I see him there pushing him off, nudging him, trying to create a bit of room with the lead hand, short right hand, chopping it over.
17:34When he works the body and finishes on the head, it's an absolutely brilliant shot, and every single one of them lands.
17:40Jeffers trying to get that head on the shoulder, turned it into that kind of fight, Natasha was talking about.
17:52Left of the body there from Hempel, I think Jeffers managed to drop the elbow on it and block it.
17:58Uppercut through the middle, got through, then the right hand did as well from Jeffers, Hempel replying to the left.
18:06Yeah, Hempel knows he can't just run as well, he's got to try and stand his ground here and fire back and get the respect of Jeffers.
18:13He's got to punch with him, try and ride the shots that are coming at him, and then fire back with his own combinations.
18:19And they breathe for the right hand there, Jeffers, just pushed off with that forearm and then sent the right hand through.
18:25The experience of Hempel then turning him round, with Jeffers just marching forward, throwing them body shots.
18:34He's really bringing the heat here, Jeffers.
18:37He's having to soak it up to the body a little bit, Hempel with a left into the rib cage there, but Jeffers is happy to do it.
18:46Rattles off a one-two into the body, then goes for the uppercut.
18:49He doesn't want to be caught going square when he's going back to the ropes and rolling his head.
19:04Just sometimes stands a bit square and leaves himself a little bit open for Hempel.
19:08Closing stage is around five, so almost at the halfway point here, good combination there from Hempel.
19:19He found that range, that three-quarter distance, and again, he's finished the round well here.
19:24Jeffers wears another left hand as, again, he just continues to come forward.

20:09So into the second half, there's not much in this one at half way.
20:36Jeffers was looking like he might be starting to get on top, but Henthill finished that fifth round really, really strong.
20:42And interestingly, in between rounds, after about 15, 20 seconds, sat down in the corner, he just pulled the towel off, got back to his feet, and he was ready to rumble well before the referee.
20:56Looked at the timekeeper to ring the bell for the start of the sixth.

21:04You've got Jeffers by a couple of points, a draw now, and one to Henthill.
21:12It's a pretty solid card, I think, but it could be tighter than that.

21:18I've got it two rounds that are drawn, and yeah, so yeah, Jeffers up one.
21:23Towards the end of that previous round, Henthill just found that distance that he needs and just managed to just ping Jeffers with a good number of punches.
21:47Jeffers maybe just switched off slightly, which at this kind of level is all that needs to happen.
21:57Well, Henthill's certainly showing that he's happy to stand his ground in exchange.

22:55Stepped in, and looked for that one.
23:00Henthill was trying to flip that jab up from the waist, Jeffers again goes for that right hand, didn't land it that time.

24:52in terms of momentum, there's not a lot in it.

24:57He just got caught by that right hand, Jeffers, about 10-15 seconds ago.
25:02He was standing at that middle distance and there it comes again.
25:06Just reigns in that right of Hemphill and Jeffers, you get the feeling
25:09he's really going to have to do this the hard way.

25:19For every one big solid heavy shot that Jeffers is trying to land,

25:30he's just throwing one-twos over the top and catching him.
25:37The mid-in into round seven and there's a long way to go in this round yet,
25:41but he's winning this round at the moment, Hemphill, with that loose, languid style
25:46that, as we've been saying, doesn't take that much out of him.
25:48And Jeffers, when he had success in the fourth and the fifth mostly,
25:52particularly the fourth, he really got on top of his man,
25:55he brought that physicality.
25:57He can't just eat punches up on the way in, he's got to try and move his head,
26:01but I do feel like he's just going to have to really bite down to do this the hard way,
26:05the physical way.
26:06Yeah, up the pace, you know, he's got to get on him more, close that distance down,
26:11don't give Hemphill the room all the time.
26:13As Hemphill likes to set it up with a jab and chuck the right hand over,
26:16he likes to move to his right.
26:18And then as Jeffers tries to step across him, he nails him with the right hands.
26:23So yeah, I think Jeffers is going to have to kind of up the pace here
26:26and really take the fight to him.
26:28Some good body shots that landed there by Jeffers.
26:31Into the final minute around seven.

26:40And Hemphill having started the round nice and sharp, nice and bright,
26:44he's maybe just beginning to feel it a little bit now,
26:46and this is where Jeffers could possibly just get on him.

28:11But Hemphill's very good at spinning back into the centre of the ring
28:14and firing back those combinations himself.
28:17Both men had successes in that round.
28:23I do agree with what Jennings was saying in the corner.
28:25And sometimes, like I said before earlier,
28:27when he's ducking down and going under and rolling under,
28:29he's just coming with his hands right by his side
28:31and he's just getting clipped over the top.
28:35And it was like the end to that previous round.
28:38We saw the fifth where he'd had a good round.
28:41He was finishing strong, Jeffers,
28:42and then he got caught by those combinations right at the end,
28:45doing exactly the same kind of thing.

28:51It's been a good watch, this.
28:54Jeffers trying to land that jab into the body,
28:58then just gets a hold of Hemphill,
28:59walks him back towards the ropes.

29:03I feel like the last two or three rounds are just swinging into Hemphill's territory

29:12and I think Jeffers needs to switch it up a little bit to change it.

30:38Combination from Jeffers, and then looks to try and get a hold of Hemphill
30:41and push him back into the ropes, but he manages just to wriggle free.
30:47I think Jeff's got to mix up, trying to create a bit of room, some hard singles,
30:51and then just kind of put a few quick flurries together
30:53and finish the combination with a hard shot.
30:56You know, the flurries will be eye-catching,
30:58and then he can finish the combination with a power shot.

33:14a left hook, and he's been able to do it all night because he does have that loose, fluid style
33:19where he's not tight, he doesn't try and muscle or force the punches in,
33:23he just lets them go and has found enough room for them crucially.

34:15where it looked like Jeffers had made a little bit of a dent,
34:17but if he did, then Hempel recovered from it well, heading towards the final minute of round nine.
34:23And there's been a lot thrown, a lot landed in this fight, they've been busy, these two.

38:43just finding the target, Jeffers connects with the right hand, looks to wind up on that left hook,
38:48but it's Hemphill, the American, who is scoring the majority of the clean shots in this final round.
38:55Jeffers is just coming a little bit wide, getting a little bit reckless, just trying to land that shot, that hate Hemphill.
39:03I think Hemphill's just that little bit looser, he's able to put those shots together better.
39:07He looks like he's punched himself out a little bit.
39:09He's given in absolutely everything in his final round, Jeffers as a corner demanded, an uppercut lands there.

39:41and the way he finished the fight there, Hemphill in that 10th round, you feel like he has probably done enough.
39:49There's close rounds to score in there, I would like to nail my colours to the mast either way.
39:53We're not judging it, the three scoring judges at ringside, but when you look at the way that he finished there, Hemphill,
40:01he boxed a good fight all the way through, didn't he? He was loose, he was quick with those hands.
40:08He never really allowed Jeffers to impose himself to the extent where he bullied him and pushed him out of fighting his fight.
40:17You know, he was physical, Jeffers, he did have success early on at being physical.
40:22But Hemphill always came back, he always answered him back, he never let him get too on top of him in the fight.
40:29Well, here's that final round, the closing stage is that left hand that landed there from Hemphill,
40:39and when he really needed to, at critical stages, when he was under fire, what he was very good at, Hemphill,
40:45was just finding enough room. He's got long arms, he's got that reach, but he would just find enough room,
40:50and the accuracy was there as well. And even in the early round, I thought he paced it well, he didn't overexert,
40:58you know, he was doing enough to nick the rounds, but it was conserving energy.
41:02And that's how you've got it at home, but you've got four drawn rounds in there, and if they get scored differently,
41:09then that's got a very different look, that scorecard, so let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
