Malaysia has proposed the establishment of a dedicated Asean Institute to coordinate and advance comprehensive regional studies, says Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday (June 19), Zambry said Malaysia will draft a concept note to be shared with Asean member states and submitted to the Asean Secretariat, then to be tabled at the Asean Heads of State Meeting in October.
Zambry also announced the adoption of the Kuala Lumpur Declaration 2045 on Asean higher education, which replaces the earlier declaration signed in 2015.
