U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday he was looking for something "better than a ceasefire" in the escalating Iran-Israel conflict after denying reports he had rushed back early from a G7 summit to Washington to work on a ceasefire.

Asked by a reporter aboard Air Force One what specifically he hoped to achieve in the conflict, Trump responded: “An end. A real end. Not a ceasefire. An end."

00:00Posted right before we took off that you're not leaving because of a ceasefire. Why are you? Can you elaborate?
00:07When I'm looking for a ceasefire, I didn't say I was looking for a ceasefire. That was Emmanuel, nice guy, but he has to get it right too often.
00:15But what I'm looking for, we're looking for better than a ceasefire.
00:19What specifically is better than a ceasefire? What are you looking for here?
00:24A real end, not a ceasefire.
00:27So something that will be permanent. Or giving up entirely.
00:33Is that okay too? Are you close there? Are you possible? Is that possible in the next 24 hours?
00:37Why not? Certainly possible. Complete give up. That's possible.
00:43How is this?
00:45We're doing pretty well. Right now we're doing pretty well.
00:48Remember, Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. It's very simple.
00:53We don't have to go too deep into it. They just can't have a nuclear weapon.
00:56What was the thinking on the call for Iran to evacuate? Is there a threat? Or is there incoming?
01:02What was the thinking on the full evacuation?
01:04I want people to be safe.
01:06And that's always possible. A thing like that could happen.
01:10And I just want people to be safe.
01:11Is there any great people that know how to protect themselves?
01:14And when you say better, what?
01:16Well, we'll come down so hard if they do anything to our people.
01:19We'll come down so hard.
01:20And then loves her off so beautifully.
01:23Now, they, uh...
01:25I think they know that to change our troops.
01:29We'll get them, uh, to쉬.
