Is this the season Josh Smith becomes an All-Star?

Rangers utility infielder Josh Smith had a fantastic start to 2024 but wasn't named an All-Star; can 2025 be the year he finally makes the team? Kevin and Cory go over his stats from this season and make the case for Smitty to make his first ever trip to the Midsummer Classic in the video above.

00:47of catcher and pitcher so he's not like your typical hey i'm gonna be lined up at shortstop

00:51every single day obviously so first of all i'm terribly impressed just by that i'm terribly

00:58impressed by the fact that he's been able to be so versatile defensively for the rangers then you

01:05look at the numbers he's hitting 288 ops of 799 i believe both of those are at or near the top

01:13depending on if you classify evan carter as qualified for it i think he's put together a solid

01:20offensive year and the versatility that he brings to this team he has bailed this rangers team out

01:26defensively time and time again i think he is worthy of an all an all-star selection although

01:35i can see how they would want to default to just the pitcher where are you putting him

01:38he's utility that is and that is a that is a legitimate spot

02:00carter clearly has played significantly fewer games so of like the full-time players this season

02:12of having the best offensive war on the team and then you factor in all the defensive aspects
