Rangers ace Jacob deGrom is heading to Atlanta as the team's All-Star rep next week after dominating hitters for the first half of the 2025 season. On a team with middling results so far, is deGrom the team's clear MVP? Or would you suggest someone like Josh Smith? Kevin and Cory debate who's been the best on this mediocre squad so far, as well if they're any closer to deciding whether to buy or sell at this trade deadline.

00:00that's what makes the season so season so confusing and so maddening we go through all
00:21of those amazing pitching things and if you didn't know the offense you'd be like hell yeah make
00:26another addition pick up that piece in the bullpen or whatever you need and let's go win the world
00:30series and then you see the whole picture and you watch the offense time and time and time again
00:36when it looks like they're going to pick it up it's just kind of sputter out and i'm not just
00:41talking about last night they only scored for one run i get that i'm talking about going back to
00:48friday night and before that the monday the sunday the saturday where you're stuck in all of these
00:53extra inning games and you can't do anything outside of doley simeon and seager in those games
01:00in that run in extra innings your lineup is over 24 like even three for 24 would be terrible you're
01:07hoping that you can you're hoping somebody gets on enough times to send you down around to those
01:13guys and then kevin those guys aren't going to succeed every time so like you're the everything
01:18else around it you're you're concerned about and we just pointed out the five four and five hole hitter
01:23how much of a disparity that is that guy's going to show up in the lineup in moments that need power
01:29a lot and a lot of times those numbers are poor for whatever reason with this team
