'If Diplomacy Fails, You Use Force': Lindsey Graham Weighs In On The Conflict With Iran

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) spoke with reporters on Wednesday about the conflict with Iran.

00:00When was the last time you got the chance to speak to the president about Iran?

00:04Last night.

00:05How did that conversation go?

00:06I think he's been very steady.

00:10He's intent on making sure that Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapon.

00:17Israel has done an amazing job to control the skies.

00:21We have one facility.

00:23It would be hard to Israel to hit without our help.

00:26We'll see what the president does.

00:28But I never felt better about the end of the Iran nuclear program.

00:34It's very close, and the world will be better off for it.

00:38Some of your colleagues are expressing concern about how a preemptive strike could affect U.S. involvement in a wider war.

00:45You either want to do away with their nuclear program or you don't.

00:50Diplomacy didn't work for 60 days.

00:53He sent emissaries, nothing to show for it.

00:56So either you want them to have a nuclear weapon or you don't.

01:00And if you don't, if diplomacy fails, you use force.

01:04So if you don't understand that Iran with a nuclear weapon is the biggest danger in the world, you're missing a lot.

01:10If you don't understand this is a religious Nazi regime, you're not listening to what they say.

01:15So all these people are talking about what if.

01:18Well, how can it be any worse?

01:20The guy in charge wants to kill all the Jews, reshape Islam in his own image, and come after us.

01:28November the 4th is Death to America Day in Iran.

01:31So the idea, well, what happens next, it can only get better.

01:34It can't be any worse.

01:35If the next guy wants to kill all the Jews and Americans, we've lost nothing.

01:41If the next person wants to live in peace, that'd be a big game.

01:45So if you're president, you've got to make hard decisions in real time.

01:50If you're sitting in the bleachers and you're uninformed, it's kind of a dangerous moment.

01:55You need to understand the regime.

01:57You need to understand their strain of Shi'ism is very, very radical.

02:02If you don't get that, you've missed a lot.
