00:00We've heard the United States, you know, we've had sources within the United States saying they're not seeking regime change.
00:06I don't know what you think of that, but were there to be a change of leadership?
00:10I mean, who would replace the current leadership? It wouldn't be a simple business at all, would it?
00:17And this is part of the issue, which is the calculation behind the Americans.
00:23And frankly, I mean, none of the wars that the Americans have been involved in since the Korean War have the U.S. been successful.
00:31But they haven't been successful in any of these wars.
00:33And so regime change hasn't really been something that is a feather in the cap of the Americans.
00:39And so they're reticent to go there. And Iran is very complicated.
00:45Yes, you can take out the supreme leader. Yes, you can take out all of these military leaders.
00:50But at the same time, the system runs very deep.
00:54Actually, interestingly, Kylie Moore Gilbert, who was a political prisoner in Ivin, wrote a piece about this today,
01:02about how there is this calculation that perhaps the devil you know is better than the devil you don't,
01:08because they don't know what's coming afterwards.
01:10But at the same time, many people, many Iranians want the supreme leader gone.
01:16Now, what could end up happening is a sort of transition government that is made up of more reformers like Pazishkian,
01:26the current president, could end up taking over and kind of leading into not necessarily regime change,
01:36but something more similar to Egypt, which is less about the revolution and more about realpolitik.
