Bhubaneswar (Odisha), June 18, 2025 (ANI): Congress leaders and workers protested against Gopalpur gangrape case in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar on June 18. The protesters, demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister, were marching towards the CM's residence. The police detained several Congress leaders and workers during the protest. In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old college student was gang-raped by a group of men at Gopalpur beach in Odisha's Ganjam district. They had tied her male friend, police said on Tuesday. “The whole nation is ashamed of the incident that happened in Gopalpur...10 men gang raped a woman. Not all the accused have been arrested. In Keonjhar, another 16-year-old girl was raped yesterday. And this government talks about Subhadra Yojana...Women are not safe in this state. We are here to demand CM's resignation...,” said Ajay Kumar Lallu. “It is very saddening that we repeatedly have to protest over crime against women. Earlier, all the MLAs were suspended from the house because we demanded a house committee to deal with the increasing cases of crime against women. Despite all this, the government did not take any steps...10 people gang raped a girl, and no police were present at the spot...The government is still just spreading the fake narrative. The justice must be served...,” said Sofia Firdous.
