Emily Ketchen, the CMO of Intelligent Devices at Lenovo, talks about sports, AI, and the fan experience at Cannes Lions 2025.
Transcript
00:00The world is really at odds with itself, and one of the things that our research tells us is that sports is the great unifier for the globe.
00:14And so we have partnerships with F1 and CESA. F1 is the world's most technical sport. FIFA is the world's most popular sport.
00:22And so in the context of F1, we are actually using AI to help advance technology.
00:29So we have this fantastic solution that we created with our services and solutions organization that allows us to use AI to improve color correction to really make the fan experience much, much, much better.
00:42So this technology using AI goes ahead and does color correction, getting the colors off the track to the fan base much more quickly using a camera racking system.
00:54And what that allows is actually the F1 team to go think about what they could be doing to further improve that fan experience.
01:01And what I love about that relationship is that F1 is pushing us and we're pushing them to make these technologies all that more advantageous and really better for the fan base and for that experience.
01:12And that fusion of technology and performance where we see a really nice alignment for our brand and for theirs.
01:18So the way that I think about AI is in a couple of different buckets.
01:22So one would be how we're thinking about marketing our AI PCs, which for me is a once in a 30 year opportunity to create a category around AI and our technologies here at Lenovo, our beautiful laptops, our Motorola phones, and how we're bringing technology and AI to your fingertips.
01:40The second one would be how are we thinking about AI as marketers?
01:44How are we using it?
01:45And so we have set up an AI governance council to really help us learn how to use AI and talk about it responsibly.
01:52And then the third area would be how are we using it to help our marketing and help the results of our marketing.
01:57So three different areas that I think are really important to marketers today and how we're thinking about using AI.
02:03So very excited to be here at Khan this year.
02:05And I think we're going to hear about three different things.
02:08First of all, the world of data continues to evolve.
02:11And I think we're going to hear a lot about that and about what it means.
02:14The second area I expect us to hear a lot about is search.
02:17That is a space that is being greatly disrupted between the advent of LLMs and other things.
02:22And so I think that's going to be a great point of discussion today.
02:25And then third, certainly AI.
02:27Last year, I feel like here at Khan, it was very much a vision.
02:30And this year, we're going to hear all about how that has come to life.
02:33We'll see examples.
02:35There'll be some great discussions happening at the Palais around creativity and AI.
02:39And I'm super excited about that.
