00:00So Tehran should be evacuated immediately. The parting shot from the US President Donald Trump
00:06as he left early the G7 summit. As the conflict between Israel and Iran intensifies, Trump
00:13returning to Washington as he warned that Tehran needs to curb its nuclear program before it's
00:19too late. World leaders in the last few hours at that summit in Canada also issued a call for peace
00:26and stability in the region, but also added that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon.
00:35A statement on the Iran-Israel war seemed elusive for much of the day, even more so when we heard
00:41that US President Donald Trump would be leaving the G7 summit prematurely. And then it seems like
00:46he changed his mind, staying with the other G7 nations and signing off on a statement which
00:50covers a wide range of topics, including recognizing Iran's role as the main regional
00:55instigator of terror and instability, recognizing Israel's right to defend itself, reaffirming
01:02the importance of protecting civilian life, and perhaps most importantly, calling for
01:06de-escalation in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza, something that even his
01:11predecessor, Joe Biden, had never done. Now what happens to the G7 minus one now that Donald
01:17Trump is gone? Well, there is still a lot on the table on Tuesday. Tuesday is when the G7 welcomes
01:22those guest nations, including the leaders of Ukraine, Brazil, India, Australia, South Africa.
01:28Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.
01:33There will be a working breakfast with the theme, A Strong and Sovereign Ukraine. Now what happens to
01:39those six statements that were supposed to be signed off on at the end of the summit, those six topics that
01:45Canada had outlined before the summit began? Can the G7 nations, the remaining G7 nations, sign off on those
01:52statements without Donald Trump? The host nation, Canada, the Canadian delegation, says they will
01:57communicate on that matter on Tuesday.
