00:00With 240 companies at the exhibition and 2,000 visitors and delegates to the conference
00:06starting yesterday and ending tomorrow, this event, the Baku Energy Week,
00:13has become the must-attend event in the whole region.
00:22Baku Energy Week has become a pivotal fixture in the global energy calendar.
00:27Now in its 30th year, it marks a defining moment for energy diplomacy, innovation and leadership.
00:35By 2030, we again, based on already signed contracts and investment commitments,
00:43are planning to have 6.5 gigawatt of renewable energy installed capacity.
00:50And that will be more than 35% of our total energy grid.
00:58So the green agenda of Azerbaijan is very ambitious.
01:02With over 40 countries represented, Azerbaijan is using this platform to show its energy ambitions
01:08extend beyond export, to transition, resilience and global relevance.
01:14We built, together with our partners, strategic pipelines to connect Caspian Sea with Black Sea,
01:23with Mediterranean, and also, of course, the crown of our pipelines is a thousand gas corridor
01:30which stretches for 3,500 kilometres from Azerbaijani offshore fields towards Italy.
01:41The Southern Gas Corridor is now a critical route for European supply,
01:46a symbol of Azerbaijan's geopolitical influence and its long-term partnerships with Europe.
01:52When this event started 30 years ago, the purpose was to tell the world what we have,
01:58what our mission and vision is, and how we can bring the world together, both regional and globally,
02:05to realise this potential to the benefit of Azerbaijan and the world and the region.
02:09Besides traditional energy resources, we are also telling the world what we have,
02:14what our vision is in terms of green energy and decarbonisation.
02:17This is not simply a showcase of existing capacity.
02:21Baku Energy Week is a signal of acceleration,
02:24and Azerbaijan's role in building a new energy coalition.
02:28We will become a net zero by 2050 energy company, and we also have very aggressive targets for 2030 and 35.
02:36So, we will rely on three primary enablers.
02:39Number one is decarbonisation of the core, the core businesses that we are in.
02:44Number two is changing the DNA of the organisation, including the culture.
02:49So, we embrace the decarbonisation and energy transition on basically a molecular level.
02:57Number three is getting into the low-carbon businesses.
03:01For example, renewable energy generation, low-carbon fertilisers, and these type of products.
03:07Energy security, technological progress, political cooperation.
03:11These aren't competing themes, they are converging.
03:14And Baku is a place where that convergence is taking shape.
03:17Energy security is an important topic.
03:19Not only the energy security, but also the green energy export.
03:23There has been a lot of emphasis on this region in terms of energy, food, and water security.
03:29And we at Masdar are playing a very crucial role.
03:34Policy meets pragmatism here in Baku, where energy futures are being written.
03:38We have been participating in Baku Energy Week for the past three years.
03:42It's an important platform that brings investors, financiers, companies from different sectors,
03:49particularly focusing on energy, to have a dialogue, to basically focus on energy security
03:55and how we can provide a sustainable and clean energy in the future.
04:00And we have, it's a great platform.
04:04And we're here today to also support the journey of Azerbaijan.
04:08That sentiment is shared by global partners, including Germany.
04:12Germany has a long-standing relation with Azerbaijan.
04:16200 years ago, settlers came to Azerbaijan.
04:19And since then, the relations have been developing.
04:21Here today are more than 13 firms and enterprises who show their world-level technology.
04:32And we just signed last week a roadmap in the areas of energy, transport, middle corridor,
04:39and other areas because, and that's why we are here.
04:43We think Azerbaijan plays an important role in the middle corridor.
04:48From hydrogen to hydrocarbons, it's clear, the energy debate is no longer about direction,
04:53but about pace, equity, and resilience.
