00:00Now, the next guy here we're going to talk about is Bryce Elder,
00:03who I think is the trap of the week on the waiver wire.
00:06He is rostered in 35% of leagues.
00:08He is available for a reason.
00:11Now, earlier he had a 12 strikeout performance against the San Francisco Giants, right?
00:16So everyone was like, oh, my God, whoa, where did that come from?
00:19Eight strikeouts, excuse me, eight innings, 12 strikeouts for him,
00:21incredible performance.
00:23Not a guy that is getting a lot of strikeouts typically.
00:25We've seen Bryce Elder many times now with the Atlanta Braves a couple years ago.
00:29He had a magical run, but all the deeper metrics screamed regression.
00:33And of course, it did and has ever since.
00:35Then this weekend, I guess the Colorado Rockies, a great matchup.
00:39He goes just three and a third innings, gives up four runs.
00:41I'm staying away from Bryce Elder.
00:43I think if the Braves find their way into this in the next couple weeks,
00:48that they will go out there and acquire a Mitch Keller or some other kind of starting pitcher.
00:52And I don't think Elder's long for this rotation.
00:54So I'm staying away, George.
00:55But I recognize there's a lot of open spots and rotation.
00:59Would you be adding Bryce Elder?
01:02That's the thing there.
01:03I agree with everything you said there.
01:04He's not special, you know.
01:07But, boy, we start generally nine pitchers, right?
01:10And you got the guys on reserve here.
01:12So if he's out there, odds are, yeah, I'm going to add him.
01:15He's not a guy I'm starting week in and week out.
01:17I will be looking at matchups.
01:19I think this week that's tough.
01:20Okay, I'm not going to start up against the Mets.
01:23You know, I don't need to see him get beat up there.
01:25But, you know, there's numbers four, one, three, one, three, two, three, one.
01:29Those are his earned runs for, you know.
01:31He rarely gets destroyed, but he rarely does very well either here.
01:35So, you know, it sort of is what it is.
01:37He's a roster filler.
