00:00Seattle, Tom Ortiz versus Hancock. That's the Guardians taking on the Mariners. That is a 4-10
00:05start, 9-23, 9-24 on the rotation. And again, another close game here in the odds market.
00:10Opened up roughly a pick'em. Most outlets, slight favorite towards Seattle with Hancock here. A
00:14total that opened up at 7.5. Now we're seeing eights. I'm telling you right now, I got a sneaky,
00:19sneaky suspicion that the Cleveland Guardians might wake up just enough to get four runs today,
00:25Tom. How about that? So the way I would look at this matchup is it's obviously extremely close
00:31and you have a home team that's been playing well with the Mariners and yet they're not some
00:35overwhelming favorite on the money line. I think that should give you a good indication.
00:38When it comes to Emerson Hancock, the way I would describe him as a pitcher is he's not bad, but I
00:44also, I'm not sure he's good either. And I know that seems like a little bit of a dropout where it's
00:50like, well, he's just, he's okay then. It's like a 17% strikeout rate is not good. And in 8.5,
00:558.3% walk rate is not good. 1.63 home runs per nine. We can say that's objectively bad.
01:00But other than that, when we're looking at some of his bad at ball metrics, like a 25.4% hard
01:04contact rate, which means he has a 59% medium contact rate. That's awesome. But he's still
01:09getting burned by home runs, but he also doesn't strike out hitters. And when it comes to Luis
01:12Ortiz, a 25% strikeout rate, great. 11% walk rate, terrible. But he also keeps the balls in play
01:19for the most part with limiting the home runs. The XFIP is at 362. So I like the guards
01:25to come way. What are they on a two game losing streak? They've lost the first two.
01:28I like the guards to come with the win. I don't know who to go to an offense. I assume it's just
01:33going to be, we keep it some of the combination of Quan Ramirez at the top of the line of maybe
01:37throw into Kyle Mansardo and move on.
