00:00Well, yes, and I appreciate you pointing that out, because this is a small sliver of our town.
00:07There were a lot of people out, about 30,000.
00:10I will tell you that out of that big crowd, five people were arrested.
00:14About 30 were given citations, and there were injuries on both sides.
00:19Officers were injured, and so were people that were there.
00:23But, you know, I think that, one, if the raids hadn't happened, then that protest would have been a no-kings protest.
00:31We know that that was planned months in advance.
00:34But the disruption and the fear that has been caused by the raids has really had a devastating effect and has been a body blow to our economy.
00:45I don't think the president understands that we have entire sectors of our economy that cannot function without immigrant labor.
00:55You know, Dana, I have to say that yesterday I spent time in the helicopter, so I went all over the city in search of these Marines.
01:04And I'm sorry, but I just didn't see them.
01:06What the troops are doing, the Federalized National Guard, is protecting the federal building.
01:12I think that detention that happened was an isolated incident, and I believe it was outside of the city of Los Angeles.
01:20But I do want to dispel the notion that the military is here.
01:24We don't want them here.
01:25They don't need to be here.
01:27Our local law enforcement have complete control of this situation.
01:31And I will tell you, the 30,000 people were downtown L.A.
01:34There were protests in 15 different locations in our city.
01:38I flew over each one of them, and they were overwhelmingly peaceful.
01:43It's not shocking that at the end of a protest that you're going to have some confrontation.
01:49Of course, I wish there was none at all.
01:50But I don't think that characterized the day at all.
