00:00Welcome back everyone. We're going to do a final trailer, Superman final trailer reaction and box office thoughts.
00:07So here we go. Very cartoony right there, that building. They don't collapse that way.
00:12And this scene right here really bugs me. It just looks lazy. Why is he clinging to the building like Spider-Man?
00:20He should have his back up against it. It should look like some kind of Herculean effort.
00:24That's just a weak, weak shot. So, um, it's his, it's his, that's a, that's a nice shot there, but it's his, uh, electrostatic aura.
00:33That's holding the building, uh, together. Um, this is Luther and a very, yeah, I just, I don't like him.
00:45I like the actor. He's great. Superman with his face in the ground. Um, you're going to see a lot of that.
00:51Superman beat up and out of action. He's just, he's too pretty. He's too pretty.
00:57And his voice is too soft. Um, Lex Luthor, if you've read the comics is supposed to be, uh, charismatic alpha male.
01:05There's Superman again with his ass kicked. Um, a lot of that. That's just, that's not feeling this man.
01:12The whole trailer, well, it's the whole trailer, but over half the trailer is just, and here he is screaming in pain as the sun heals him.
01:21That kaiju just looks god-awful. It looks like a, a frickin' Muppet.
01:26It looks terrible. It looks goofy, and it looks stupid.
01:30And the fisheye lens effect is just constant throughout the entire movie.
01:37And, uh, and look at this, look at his eyes. Look at his eyes. His eyes, heat vision hurts him.
01:42Everything hurts him. Now, this is the scene that everyone finds, uh, controversial, myself included.
01:47Superman angrily punching out someone's teeth.
01:51Um, yeah, just ridiculous. Cartoonish and ridiculous.
02:00They really should have de-aged him. I can't believe he's only 54.
02:04He could pass from my dad, and he's not that much older.
02:07Now, this right here, this is very Guardians of the Galaxy.
02:10James Gunn likes these distorted, foggy effects.
02:15More fisheye lens.
02:16Because, I really do think it's just to hide the bad CGI.
02:20Because this is the same CGI that we saw in the flash, and it looks the same.
02:26It shows, there's a few moments like this that look inspired, but then...
02:31Hey! Quit messing around!
02:34I'm not messing around. I'm doing important stuff.
02:36Ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha!
02:39And there's Superman lasering everyone with his heat vision.
02:41So, yeah, so he knocked the guy's teeth out on purpose,
02:46because apparently he has amazing control of his powers.
02:51And I just don't like that.
02:52The eyes up here, the line is really stupid.
02:56And this shot here is just...
02:59I'm sorry, it's retarded.
03:01It's so bad.
03:04I just...
03:04I hate this. I hate this. I hate this. I hate this.
03:07Okay. Now, let's go over some box office numbers.
03:12Man of Steel made $670 million worldwide.
03:16Some sources say $668 million.
03:19So, we're just going to say $670 million for the sake of argument.
03:23Okay, that's 12 years ago.
03:25Alright?
03:26Now, when you adjust for inflation, stop groaning.
03:29I can hear you groaning.
03:30But when you adjust for inflation,
03:32because your dollar has been criminally devalued,
03:34it would have made $920 million today.
03:39That's how much $670 million in 2013 dollars is.
03:44So, James Gunn movie, on the other hand,
03:47to reach profit depends on what you believe.
03:52If you believe that James Gunn's movie was made for the same as Man of Steel 12 years ago,
03:57and that it has an advertising budget of $120 million, $130 million,
04:03then he only needs to reach $500 million to start profiting.
04:08$700 million for success.
04:10But if you believe the actual tax records,
04:13then he's going to make over $727 million to even start profiting.
04:19And this is because theaters take a cut, y'all.
04:21Alright, and another problem is that the numbers,
04:26the box office predictions, are already dropping.
04:28It's dropping since the latest trailer,
04:31which everyone will tell you was overwhelmingly positively received,
04:35but that's just not the case.
04:37There's a lot of people shilling for this movie.
04:39It just is what it is.
04:41And if you look to the right,
04:42you can see that the new projection is $140 million.
04:46Not $175 million, $140 million.
04:49And I was telling my friends this when they came out with those numbers.
04:52I said, Hollywood always does this.
04:54They always start out with crazy high numbers and then round lower.
04:57Now, this clip is 3C Films.
05:00I forget the guy's name, but he's really hyped for this.
05:03He's talking about Grace's Comet.
05:04It says, seems to me, see to me, I don't see Superman.
05:09I don't see Superman or whatever, knock out someone's teeth,
05:11but some people seem to love it.
05:13Look at his face.
05:14Look at Superman's face.
05:15He looks really angry.
05:16He just doesn't do this.
05:19He doesn't cut loose on goons, on the hired help like this.
05:24And I said, I'm a lifelong Superman.
05:26Man, Grace Randolph is exactly right.
05:28I never say that, but I said it here.
05:30This isn't Superman.
05:31It's just not.
05:32And I'm not supporting the film.
05:34Here's one of the top comments.
05:35There's a group of Snyder fans who are going to post spoilers everywhere.
05:39So beware.
05:40So, you know, Mike, this is the top comment.
05:42I said, y'all need to chill with the hate for Snyder fans.
05:45I always hear about them being so toxic, but every time I see someone being toxic,
05:50it's a James Gunn fan calling Man of Steel fans Snyder cultists and other nonsense.
05:55So, second highest comment on this video, Snyder pigs are losing it.
06:00Ha ha ha.
06:01Little laugh emojis.
06:03All right.
06:03So, I respond, again, another comment calling Man of Steel fans Snyder pigs.
06:09You and everyone that liked this disgusts me.
06:12Let people be fans of the Superman they prefer and stop being so toxic.
06:18I will never tell a Christopher Reeve fan that their Superman isn't as good as my Superman.
06:25That's ridiculous.
06:26You love who you love.
06:27We all respect the character.
06:29They're just, I don't, it's not all, it's not all James Gunn fans.
06:34It's not.
06:34Okay.
06:34I get that.
06:36But it's a lot of them.
06:37All right.
06:37And this guy says, Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill don't deserve those fans.
06:41They probably don't even like these people.
06:43Honestly, I'm really sad.
06:45These guys are so miserable.
06:47And so I said, and yet all I'm seeing here are negative, toxic James Gunn fans.
06:52And that's the truth.
06:53You don't see anything but, you know, negative, toxic James Gunn fans.
06:58There's no Snyder cultists.
06:59There's no Snyder bros being, calling James Gunn names and things like that.
07:06And they might say, yeah, this doesn't look as good as Man of Steel, but they're entitled to their opinion.
07:10They're just like James Gunn fans for the past 12 years.
07:14A lot of these MCU fans have been saying that, you know, Man of Steel was garbage.
07:21They have a right to say that.
07:22That's fine.
