00:00Father's Day celebrates the men who have shaped us through quiet strength, awkward jokes and life lessons we didn't see coming.
00:14Sometimes it's a lesson, sometimes it's just their presence. Either way, dads leave a mark.
00:20My father was very strict with me. I was the only boy, I was the only son. I was very much younger than my two older sisters.
00:34So he was a very tough and strict father. I think he was softer than my sisters.
00:39But I think that has shaped me into being someone who can withstand challenges, be resilient.
00:47He had a very, very upright moral code, very strong in terms of values and integrity.
00:54And I tried to carry that with me as well.
00:57He's the only solo breakwinner. So basically he supports all five of us.
01:03So something that is very hard, that's a very hard responsibility for him to do, especially in an economy like Singapore.
01:13So of course, you know, when this kind of day has come, it's best that we show more love and show effort to him when this day is coming, especially in Father's Day.
01:29My dad is actually kind of like my hero. I look up to him a lot. Well, we don't, we've kind of had like a long distance relationship.
01:36But throughout the years, I'm 20 this year and he's really played a big role in my life.
01:40So I can't wait for Father's Day because I can't wait to tell him how much I love him. I miss him a lot.
01:45For the fathers we met, parenthood wasn't just a role. It's a journey of learning, love and fun.
01:54While some recalled the fathers who raised them, others shared what it means to step into those shoes today.
02:00It's been an interesting journey. It's different from being a son as well, my father, but I learned a lot from my dad as well.
02:09Talking about Father's Day, yeah. Not 100% hard, but it's fun, like you say.
02:13Funny moments is doing, like going on a slide with them in the water park and all those, yeah.
02:18I think Rafe, who's my youngest son, we prank him a lot, especially Jibril and myself.
02:25He finds it annoying, but I think he finds it fun at the same time. So we all do all sorts of pranks.
02:31Timur, my middle son, he's autistic, so our experience with him is of course different.
02:37But I think we are trying to focus on quality time with Timur.
02:41It was definitely happy and fun and definitely not easy because no one was born with a manual in hand to know what to do as a father.
02:51But we learn as we go along, yeah.
02:55And it helps a lot when you've got someone to shoulder whatever responsibilities there is.
03:04Of course I'm referring to my wife.
03:11Hi Acha, happy Father's Day. I hope you have a good Father's Day as well.
03:20I hope you know that you're the world's greatest dad and I hope in the next lifetime you're my dad as well.
03:24Happy Father's Day to my dad and all the dads out there.
03:26I wish all the fathers out there a happy Father's Day and that day is your day.
03:33I don't have a father anymore. I lost my father when I was 16.
03:37I lost my father-in-law recently who was also a father figure to me.
03:41I know that once we get older, we spend less and less time with our parents, especially our fathers.
03:47But this Father's Day do something special for your father.
