00:00Let's talk about some of the individuals who were targeted.
00:03We've got the leader of the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, General Mohammed Baghari.
00:09There's also Hossein Salami, who is the leader of the Revolutionary Guard,
00:17and the chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, General Mohammed Baghari.
00:22Those two killed, along with six nuclear scientists and a number of other senior figures in the Iranian leadership.
00:29I mean, certainly on the military side.
00:31Who stands out for you as being the most significant of the people who were targeted?
00:38Maybe Salami, as well as the other commanders,
00:42their killing would be a major blow to the overall Iranian Armed Forces and defense strategy moving forward.
00:52This also, let's not forget, this comes on the following, first of all,
00:57the assassination of the Iranian top general in 2020 under the first Trump administration, General Soleimani, back then.
01:05And then also in the past two years, major blows to Iran's allies, network of allies,
01:10the axis of resistance across the region, Hezbollah, Hamas, the militias in Iraq.
01:15So the overall blow is going to be very serious to Iran, both as far as their strategic depth that they saw in the region with their allies,
01:27their forward defense strategy, which was sort of that network, and also the fall of Assad in Syria, of course, Iran's close state ally in the region.
01:35But then now domestically, inside the country, with the homeland being attacked, and with these commanders being killed in their homes with their families,
01:45this is very unprecedented.
01:47It's a major blow to Iranians, and I just don't know if they have a lot of good options in front of them after this.
