Wendy Williams looked overjoyed to be out of the assisted living facility where she's living and back in the Big Apple streets ... grabbing a meal with some friends.

00:00Wendy Williams, who was not at a hockey game, but still out enjoying herself.

00:05And, you know, there was a long period where that wasn't happening at all.

00:09But last night she was out with friends, went out for dinner with friends.

00:14And, of course, fans always recognize her when she walks into a place and she gets to have these interactions now.

00:21She is still at the assisted living facility.

00:25Right.

00:25But they clearly have loosened the reins as she has been.

00:30But in order for her to go out, her guardian needs to give her permission to go still.

00:34She still has to get permission.

00:35So last night she got permission to go out and spend a night with her friends.

00:39Yeah.

00:40Yes.

00:40So she showed up to a French steakhouse in near Midtown.

00:46It's called Lou Marais.

00:47And she was there with a couple of friends, a fashionista, Toby Rubenstein, and then a media mogul, Alvina Alston.

00:55And she was hugging them.

00:56She seemed very happy.

00:58And like you guys kind of touched on, she had talked about how she felt the facility that she was living at was like a prison.

01:05And so it's great to see her out because we know that's what she loves to do.

01:08She loves to be around people.

01:09And she seems like she's enjoying herself.

01:12Now, the battle that still remains, it's great that she has, you know, a little more freedom now.

01:17She wants out from this guardianship altogether.

01:19And we've told you that, you know, she's hired Joe Tacopina to help her in that effort.

01:25It is slow going at this point.

01:28And maybe the guardian feels like Wendy's going to back off because she's getting a little more freedom.

01:34I don't think so.

01:36From what we've heard from Wendy herself, from Joe Tacopina, she wants out of this guardianship.

01:42It's just clearly going to take a little more time to get it done.
