00:00Game 5, Panthers-Oilers, Saturday night, just after 8 o'clock East, back up to Alberta.
00:06Now, two things about this game that I want to just look at from a total perspective here, Dave,
00:13and follow me if we can.
00:15This is so bizarre that we have played four games in the Stanley Cup Final,
00:19and all of them have been over.
00:21Every game has gone over the total.
00:24I gave Pharrell some stat on Coast to Coast yesterday that, like, in the last 20 years,
00:28there was only, like, eight Stanley Cup Final games that went over 6.5 or something like that,
00:35with the totals you listed there.
00:36And you've had four for four now in this series alone.
00:41So there's two things I'm going to ask you here.
00:43Do you think that because it's getting later in the series now that we're going to get a little tighter
00:50and it's going to start to go under because the eyes are on the prize,
00:55things are going to get clenched up a little bit,
00:57and the other thing I'll factor in for Saturday is this is the only game in the entire series
01:04where they are going to play travel without the second day.
01:10Every other time there's travel, you have the extra day.
01:13This is the only game in the series where there's only one day between games
01:17and there's that huge, you know, 3,500-mile travel back and forth from South Florida to Edmonton.
01:24Will that factor in to the game five on Saturday night?
01:28So everything you said sounds right.
01:31And everything you said was what I thought was going to happen in game four,
01:35where they had the bad ice.
01:38You know, Florida's ice has been terrible.
01:40It can't keep it.
01:41Like 100 degrees there.
01:42Right?
01:43So it was ripe for an under, and I said that game four would be the game that would go under
01:49if a game was going to go under.
01:51So, yes, it should get tighter.
01:54Yes, it should get limited.
01:56Yes, there should be less power plays.
01:59Yes, all of the above.
02:01And yet we have most likely Edmonton with a goalie change
02:05and up and down action where no lead is safe.
02:09So do I want to go on record as saying one of these games is going under, Mike?
02:14I mean, as a book guy, I would think it should.
02:19Every game can't go over, can it?
02:21I don't think so.
02:23I mean, I don't think so.
02:24But, again, we're seeing something we've never seen before.
02:28Edmonton last night was the first team to come back on the road,
02:31being down three goals in a Stanley Cup final game since 1919.
02:36It was over 106 years ago, the last time it happened.
02:42Okay?
02:43Everything's out the window.
02:44I have no idea.
02:45Yeah, I mean, it's almost like what I just said about the overs.
02:48Like, I think that everything, if you try to compare this series
02:53to anything that's ever happened in the past history of this league,
02:58it just doesn't seem like you should waste your time doing it.
03:03Like, there's just –
03:04And these two teams just played seven games last year
03:10in the Stanley Cup final.
03:13And nothing – you can't take away anything from that.
03:16I mean, it was 3-0 Florida.
03:18Then it was 3-3.
03:20You know, Edmonton wanted to come back.
03:21The force of game seven.
03:22I think the only thing that you and I – I feel confidently about
03:28is that we will be back here next Friday talking about this,
03:32probably for the last show of the NHL Today show,
03:35unless we do a wrap show after that.
03:37I hope we are here for a game seven because, man,
03:41four games have been excellent.
03:45And I just want to see more of it.
03:47I think we're going to be back here for – I think we'll be back here no matter what.
03:53But I think we'll be at game seven next Friday night back in Edmonton.
03:58I just – the only thing I've been, like, right about since the start of this series
04:02was that it was going to be punch, punch back.
04:05It's been very weird how we've gotten there.
04:07But 1-1 after Edmonton, 2-2 after Florida.
04:11We've gotten there as crazy as a way as it has.
04:13And I believe we'll hold these next two.
04:17I think Edmonton's going to win the game five at home.
04:20I think Florida will get the return at home in game number six.
04:25And then all bets will be off.
04:26What if Florida wins game five tomorrow, Mike?
04:29That's the thing.
04:31What if Florida wins game five tomorrow?
04:33I think that Edmonton can win the game six in Florida.
