00:00The Diddy trial, taking a turn now because Jane is still on the witness stand.
00:07Jane is the ex-girlfriend testifying under that pseudonym.
00:11But she is talking about a moment where it certainly sounds like Diddy was absolutely desperate and sort of circling the wagons.
00:21This was just a couple of days after Cassie had filed her lawsuit.
00:26And we know that the very next day he reached a settlement with her for $20 million.
00:32But after that lawsuit was filed, it seems clear now from what you're about to hear that he was worried about the other women in his life and what they might be saying to law enforcement.
00:48So this was a phone call.
00:50This came up in court.
00:51This is the transcript of a conversation between Diddy and Jane three days after Cassie filed her lawsuit.
01:00And just listen to the tone of what he was saying.
01:02He says, talking to Jane, hey, I really need your friendship right now.
01:06And that's it.
01:07I can't even talk on the phone.
01:09Like, please, don't send no texts or do nothing.
01:11People misread it and blank.
01:13I don't know what the blank.
01:14And he added, my love is definitely true.
01:17You know what I'm saying?
01:18We just into some kinky blank that I thought we both, you know, enjoy.
01:23And Jane only responds with a, mm-hmm.
01:27And the reason she's so hesitant, she's read the entire lawsuit and is definitely feeling some sort of way about this, knowing she's been in a relationship with him this whole time as well.
01:38And this is what she eventually says to him.
01:42I've been crying for, like, three days.
01:44I can't even sleep.
01:45Like, just reading all that is just so, like, word for word.
01:50Like, word for word is crazy to me.
01:52Like, it just feels sick in my soul, you know?
01:54So, he's concerned that she's going to talk to either Susan, talk to a lawyer.
02:02Right.
02:02Or even worse, law enforcement.
02:04And she is just like, what is, now she's seeing this other side of the mirror.
02:10Like, there was, she knew about Cassie, obviously.
02:13Right.
02:14But didn't realize what had happened.
02:17This was a pattern and.
02:18Right.
02:18Yeah.
02:19Didn't realize the violence that was going on, that had gone on in that relationship.
02:24So, for her, this was really shocking.
02:27Remember, she had been through a violent incident with him where he was chasing her and he, she testified about him kicking in a door and chasing her.
02:35So, for Jane, this was clearly a moment where she was going, what are we doing?
02:42And she testified.
02:43They went on a break after that.
02:45And interesting, his first instinct is basically like, don't say anything.
02:48Right.
02:49Right.
02:49Everyone's got to be, be quiet.
02:51And so, this whole time, Jane has been testifying that she kind of felt like the secret that he wanted to hide her and just have these hotel nights with her and didn't get the same treatment that these other more public girlfriends were getting.
03:03But she said today that, you know, after the Cassie lawsuit, he started acting way more loving, way more affectionate, and that their relationship actually began to grow.
03:12So, I think it's just super obvious here what Diddy was trying to do and kind of laid the groundwork for, oh, no, I'm in this healthy, committed relationship and, like, we're good, right?
03:22Yet, they did go on a bit of a break, right?
03:24From December until her birthday in February of 24.
03:29And then they reconciled in February, yeah, correct.
03:32So, she is still on the stand today, Janet, and still under cross-examination.
03:37What's the latest that she's been testifying about?
03:41So, today, she testified that it started with an event that happened in January of 2024.
03:48And, actually, this morning, the prosecutors, the defense, and Jane's attorney were in the robing room for over an hour before court even began.
03:56And they were arguing about whether or not the people involved in this January 2024 Vegas trip should be named publicly or not.
04:04And this involves on Jane's previous testimony about an unnamed rapper and his partner and that she went to Vegas with this group of people, including the rapper,
04:13and that she walked into the hotel room and one of the escorts that her or Diddy had used previously was there having sex with a woman and everyone was watching.
04:21So, Jane testified about that and said that this is an icon in the music industry, someone that was close with Diddy.
04:28But, yeah, there was a lot of back and forth today about whether or not those people should be named publicly.
04:34Right.
04:34And, as of this point, they've said they're not going to name them.
04:38But, certainly, you have her on the stand saying there's an icon in the music industry.
04:42Do we have any guesses?
04:43We're not going to do that.
04:45We're not going to do that because we don't want to get in trouble.
04:48But, Diddy's lawyers on cross-examination have really shown that, at times, Jane was very much into this.
04:58Right.
04:59And now you have her testifying today that there were other people in the music industry that either knew or picked up on this vibe.
05:07So, is she damaging to the prosecution's case here?
05:11Because if she's in it willingly...
05:15And is it coercion if she's a part of it?
05:19And we talked about earlier this week that she sort of incentivized him, if you want to be back with me, you're going to do...
05:25I can give you more freak-off sort of thing.
05:27I just wonder how this is all playing for the prosecution and playing, most importantly, for the jury.
05:33One other thing that's happened in court, there is a juror that may be excused from the case.
05:40There is an alternate that would go in his place.
05:43But there are...
05:45The defense is very upset about this.
05:47The reason that he may be kicked out, apparently, reportedly, he's been sort of snickering at times during testimony.
05:53And the judge is obviously not down with that.
05:57But if he does get removed, and that should be addressed later today, it is...
06:03He is a black male.
06:05I think he's black and Hispanic.
06:07And the defense obviously wants to keep that person on the jury because they think that he's going to, you know, be favorable to their side.
06:18And they may have a sense of what he's thinking based off of the fact that he's snickering.
06:22Yeah, exactly.
06:23Depending on what he's snickering, they may know.
06:24That's the whole point.
06:25Both sides might know where he's at.
06:27We'll see how that turns out.
