June 12, 2025 (ANI): Former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani was killed in the London-bound Air India plane that crashed near the Ahmedabad airport soon after take-off on June 12. BJP MP Sambit Patra confirmed the death of the former CM in a post on ‘X’. He was among the 242 people aboard the ill-fated London-bound Air India I71 flight that crashed moments after it took off from Ahmedabad. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu rushed to the crash site and expressed grief over the tragic incident.

02:18To the best of their abilities they have been functioning here and doing the rescue operations.

02:31And my condolences, my prayers, my thoughts with the families of the bereaved.
