00:15In the clip, which has amassed hundreds of thousands of views across different accounts, the devices discuss an employee's badge number in English.

00:31But when all three realize they are communicating with other chatbots, they switch to a so-called secret language.
00:45So, what's going on?
00:47In February, two software engineers created gibblink, a term which combines gibberish and link.
00:52This technology enables AI systems to communicate directly through sounds, rather than in human terms.
01:00So, yes, this technology is real. However, according to gibblink's creators, viral videos are imitating their technology by editing in audio effects on devices that are in reality, not connected.
01:12Every supermarket item has a barcode. Gibblink is essentially this barcode, QR code, but over sound.
01:22Humans can look at QR code and understand nothing. It's just black and white pieces, but QR code don't scare people.
01:32So, yes, AI can communicate in its own language. However, it is not secret, as it is based on open source data and is coded by humans.
01:42Although the coding is done in English, the signal cannot be understood by humans, similarly to QR codes.
01:49As for many of the videos circulating online, they are falsely imitating an existing technology.
