Australia is confident the Trump administration will proceed with the Biden-era Aukus submarine pact after a review. The U.S. is formally reviewing the US$240 billion deal with Australia and the U.K. that was formed in 2021 amid concerns over China's growing power.

00:00Australia says it's confidence the Trump administration will proceed with the Biden-era submarine pact, AUKUS, after a review was announced.
00:09I mean, this is a multi-decade program where governments, in fact, are going to come and go.
00:14And when new governments come into place, I think you will see them undertake reviews of this kind, and that's fine.
00:20We will work very closely with the U.S. on it, but we're really confident about the progress of AUKUS,
00:26and we're confident about how it will proceed under the Trump administration.
