At the decaying Merrye House, feared by locals, the Merrye children Ralph, Virginia, and Elizabeth have lived in seclusion with the family chauffeur Bruno ever since their parents died. All three have advanced Merrye Syndrome, a genetic affliction unique to members of the family which causes them, starting in late childhood, to regress down the evolutionary ladder mentally and physically. They exhibit a playful innocence well before their years mixed with feral madness. Ralph is a sexually advanced, but mentally deficient simpleton who moves through the house via the dumb-waiter. Virginia is obsessed with spiders, and has more than once murdered visitors in a game of "spider", trapping them by rigging a window to snap shut on them before hacking them to death with butcher knives. Elizabeth is regarded by Bruno as the most responsible of the three, but is also conniving and infatuated with the concept of hate. The children hold a steadfast respect and affection for Bruno, but increasingly disregard his admonitions against their darker impulses.

00:00:30Hannibal spiders creep and crawl, boys and ghouls having a ball, Frankenstein, Dracula and even the mummy are sure to end up in somebody's tummy.
00:01:00Take a fresh rodent, some toadstools and weeds, and add an old owl and the young one she breeds, mix in seven legs from an eight-legged piece, and then you're all set for a cannibal feast.
00:01:15Sit down to fire with this cup of brew, a fiend and a werewolf on each side of you.
00:01:35This cannibal orgy is strange to behold and the maddest story ever told.
00:01:45The Mary Syndrome, so-called because it's only known occurrence, is among the descendants of one Ebenezer Mary, a progressive age regression beginning about the 10th year and continuing steadily throughout the victim's lifetime.
00:02:12It is believed that eventually the victim of the Mary Syndrome may even regress beyond the prenatal level, reverting to a pre-human condition of savagery and cannibalism.
00:02:26Many authorities do not accept the existence of the Mary Syndrome.
00:02:32Incredible, but true. Nevertheless, I know only too well.
00:02:42Of course, there's no Mary Syndrome anymore. It was extinguished forever from the human race that fateful day ten years ago.
00:02:58they run away from the latestifications of the Mary Syndrome trying to get some love.
00:03:02They won't be amazing to see the lady as a kid.
00:03:03They've seen me singing, so-called why is she not set up.
00:03:05Now, they do not fall out to the other.
00:03:07They're not coming to someone.
00:03:08Let me know the fact that they're getting too high up, so-called what that's coming.
00:03:10They do not have to stay.
00:03:11What's happening, they don't have to stay?
00:03:12They don't have to stay, that's okay.
00:03:13They're not coming to you.
00:03:14They do not go out there.
00:03:16I think that they're as
00:03:27Can you tell me where the Mary House is?

00:12:22Virginia, now you stay right there.
00:12:48You're going to sit down.
00:12:50Sit down.
00:12:51You too are listening.
00:12:59Now, children, I want to tell you something, and I want you to listen very, very carefully.
00:13:07You remember last time when those two children climbed over the wall and Virginia almost caught them in her spiderweb?
00:13:16Well, that got people to wondering about us, and that's bad.
00:13:22Your daddy wouldn't like that, Virginia.
00:13:26Now, I can't pee here all the time.
00:13:29You know that I have to take Ralph into the city to the doctor once in a while.
00:13:36And, Virginia, you were supposed to mind your sister.
00:13:40You were not supposed to play spider anymore.
00:13:44Now, you never, never can play spider again.
00:13:47Ralph, what have you got there?
00:13:52Something that man had.
00:13:54Ralph, give it to me.
00:13:56That's it.
00:13:58Thank you, Ralph.
00:13:59Ah, this is from a lawyer.
00:14:10Yeah, a lawyer?
00:14:12What is it, Bruno?
00:14:13Something bad, isn't it?
00:14:16How many times do I have to tell you just because something isn't good doesn't mean it's bad?
00:14:22What do you mean, Dad?
00:14:24It must be something very bad.
00:14:26Nothing is very bad.
00:14:29Nothing is very bad.
00:14:31It isn't?
00:14:35He's going to come here and bring other people.
00:14:39Daddy wouldn't like that.
00:14:43What other people?
00:14:45They want to make, they want to become your legal guardians.
00:14:52As the only other known surviving heirs of the estate of Titus W. Mary.
00:15:05Isn't that Daddy?
00:15:07On the 14th of...
00:15:15Today's the 14th.
00:15:16Now, children, we've got to keep some secrets today.
00:15:43Dad?
00:15:44He's lucky.
00:15:47Daddy.
00:15:59Dad?
00:16:01Father?
00:16:03Dad?
00:16:05Father?
00:16:07Father?
00:16:09Father?
00:16:11Father?
00:16:12Come on.
00:16:42What do you want that for?
00:17:06Hurry up.
00:17:07I want to watch Uncle Nick.
00:17:08You're not supposed to.
00:17:12Hey, look out.
00:17:18I'm coming, Uncle Nick.
00:17:42I'm coming, Aunt Clare.
00:17:51Aunt Martha.
00:17:53I'm coming, Uncle Ned.
00:17:55Really, Emily?
00:18:11I mean, I wish you'd kind of...
00:18:13Peter, if you don't like my driving, you may feel free to take a trolley.
00:18:17Now, wait just a minute.
00:18:18This was not my idea.
00:18:20I've never heard of the Mary family.
00:18:22What is that?
00:18:22They're our cousins, darling.
00:18:24It behooves us to meet them.
00:18:27All right.
00:18:28I mean, you know, all right.
00:18:29But remember that it was not my idea.
00:18:31Okay?
00:18:32Of course not, darling.
00:18:34You don't have ideas, baby Peter brother.
00:18:37What in the world makes you think this is the right road?
00:18:57It's got to be.
00:19:09Ha!
00:19:09There, you see?
00:19:10So, this is it.
00:19:28I don't see any sign of, uh, what's his name?
00:19:31Uh, the lawyer.
00:19:34Obviously, he hasn't arrived as yet.
00:19:36The caretaker here probably went to meet him in a horse and buggy.
00:19:56Might as well go on up.
00:19:58They'll be along any minute.
00:19:59Why don't we, uh...
00:20:01What's the matter, Peter?
00:20:04Chicken?
00:20:04Well, I just don't think it's, you know, just right barging in on somebody that you're about to sue.
00:20:10Oh, just remember, we're trying to avoid that expense, if possible.
00:20:15Well, I'll leave that up to you.
00:20:19Well, I don't want to leave it.
00:20:23It's over.
00:20:23I don't want to leave it.
00:20:25I'll take it.
00:20:25I don't want to leave it.
00:20:26I don't want to leave it.
00:20:27I don't want to leave it.
00:20:28I'll leave it.
00:20:28Okay.
00:20:33It's over.
00:20:34I'm okay.
00:20:36All right.
00:20:38Let's take it.
00:20:39I know you already have time.
00:20:40You're right, Wooll.
00:20:41Oh, what?
00:20:42But.
00:20:43Oh, one, we'll never see.
00:20:44I won't be ar Jingle.
00:20:46Oh, we'll be right.
00:20:47I'll leave it.
00:21:18What happened?
00:21:46You saw a ghost, right?
00:21:47Don't be funny.
00:21:48There was a...
00:21:49There was a...
00:21:50Awful...
00:21:51A...
00:21:52A...
00:21:53A baboon.
00:21:54Well, let's not have a complete double duck fit.
00:21:57There was a...
00:21:58A...
00:21:59A...
00:22:00A...
00:22:01A...
00:22:02A...
00:22:03A...
00:22:04A...
00:22:05A...
00:22:08A...
00:22:12A...
00:22:43Uh, Mr. Schlocker, I think he means that you open the window for me behind me.
00:22:51Hmm. Yes.
00:22:57What's going on here? Why have we stopped?
00:22:59They're blasting up ahead, sir.
00:23:01They're what?
00:23:05Blasting, sir. For the new highway.
00:23:08Oh. Well, better wait it out, I suppose.
00:23:11Yes, sir. They won't be long, sir, Mr. Schlocker.
00:23:15The name is Schlocker, Mr. Bruno.
00:23:19Oh, please, sir. Uh, Bruno. Just plain Bruno, sir.
00:23:23Oh. Very well, Bruno.
00:23:25Uh, I want to tell you I appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
00:23:30I wasn't expecting it, frankly.
00:23:34Cooperation, sir?
00:23:36Well, yes. Uh, to tell you the truth, uh, I was fully prepared to avail myself of the services of a marshal, should it be necessary.
00:23:44Well, thanks to your cooperation, it is.
00:23:48I appreciate that, and I'll do my best to see that you're not forgotten.
00:23:53Forgotten, sir? I, I, I don't quite understand.
00:23:57Well, in the, uh, in the disposition of the estate, uh, I firmly believe that so many years of faithful service should not go unrewarded, no matter how ill-advised.
00:24:10Thank you, sir.
00:24:11Now, Bruno, I'd like to ask a few questions, if you don't mind.
00:24:16Very well, sir. Go ahead, sir.
00:24:19Now, it's my understanding that for the past several years you have been the sole, uh, custodian of the three children of the late Titus W. Mary, is that correct?
00:24:31As you say, sir, for some many years.
00:24:35And that these same three children have, uh, never been allowed the benefits of any sort of formal schooling.
00:24:42Oh, no, sir. The master wouldn't have allowed that.
00:24:46And, uh, professional medical care?
00:24:48Oh, on the contrary, sir. I assure you there have been regular and frequent visits.
00:24:53You mean they're not well?
00:24:55Well, uh, as well as could be expected, sir.
00:24:59You see, they're not, uh, ordinary children.
00:25:04Well, I'm sure we can all agree to that, Bruno, but nevertheless...
00:25:07You see, they're, uh, well, you might call them retarded.
00:25:11Retarded? Well, I should think so. Nearly full-grown and never a day of school.
00:25:16Well, sir, I-I don't think you understand, Mr. Shocker.
00:25:20I'm afraid you don't understand, my dear fellow.
00:25:23There are properly qualified institutions for the care of the, uh, the deprived.
00:25:29Especially when there are substantial estates to be administered.
00:25:33Uh, frankly, I find the whole affair rather shocking.
00:25:37I may add there are proper judicial remedies for such abuses.
00:25:42I don't think the master would like this.
00:25:55Come on, buddy. Let's get this car out of here.
00:25:59Yes, sir.
00:26:00Yes.
00:26:01Yes.
00:26:02Oh, my dear Miss Hall. So nice to see you here.
00:26:08And the young Mr. Hall. Hi, Stocker. How are you?
00:26:13Good to see you, my boy. Pee, this is my secretary, Miss Morris.
00:26:17Hi, Miss Morris. How do you do?
00:26:18Hi.
00:26:19Hi.
00:26:20Get the rest of it, Schlocker. Let's go in and take a look at the place.
00:26:26Oh, yes, sir. I've been away from the children too long already.
00:26:29Uh, you just, uh, follow me and I'll leave the room.
00:26:30And I'll leave the room.
00:26:32Oh, my dear Miss Hall.
00:26:33Oh, my dear Miss Hall. So nice to see you here.
00:26:36And the young Mr. Hall. Hi, Schlocker. How are you?
00:26:39Good to see you, my boy. Pee, this is my secretary, Miss Morris.
00:26:42Hi, Miss Morris. How are you?
00:26:43Hi.
00:26:44Get the rest of it, Schlocker.
00:26:45You just follow me, and I'll show you where to park your machine.
00:26:50But if I may ask a favor, please, please treat the children tactfully.
00:26:56You see, they're not accustomed to strangers,
00:26:59and they might act wild if encouraged.
00:27:09Now, ladies, this is your Auntie Emily and your Uncle Peter.
00:27:14Elizabeth and Virginia.
00:27:18There's two pretty names for two such pretty young ladies.
00:27:21Uh, this is Miss, uh...
00:27:23Anne.
00:27:24Anne.
00:27:25Uh, Ralph, where's Ralph?
00:27:28Ralph! Ralph!
00:27:30Virginia!
00:27:31Ralph! Ralph! Ralph! Ralph! Ralph! Ralph! Ralph!
00:27:54Aw, he's all right, Emily. He's just a big kid.
00:27:58Yes, it's like you say, sir. He's just a big kid.
00:28:06Now, see here, Bruno. You don't seem to realize just how serious all this is.
00:28:11Now, these children are obviously in need of qualified professional care, wouldn't you say?
00:28:20Well, there's a great deal in what you say, sir.
00:28:23But I gave their father a solemn oath that I'd never allow their unfortunate malady to become the object of public scrutiny.
00:28:32Nonsense.
00:28:33The days when we hit our insane behind walls of shame went out with that old car of yours.
00:28:40They're talking about us, Virginia. I know.
00:28:44But, Mr. Shocker, an oath to a dying man, that can't be taken lightly.
00:28:49Now, Bruno, what do you mean by malady?
00:28:53I mean, well, I've seen backward kids, is it?
00:28:56Well, no, it's more than a retardation. It's sort of a regression, a progressive deterioration of the mental faculties, a rotting of the brain, so to speak.
00:29:09It begins in late childhood and progresses rapidly, ultimately resulting in physical deformity.
00:29:19Rather like the last stages of paresis.
00:29:23Really that bad?
00:29:25Yes, sir. The Mary family, or at least this branch of them, have been afflicted for generations.
00:29:33And I'm sorry to say, sir, I think this is the last generation.
00:29:38What a shame.
00:29:40Bruno, you mean all three of these?
00:29:43Yes, sir.
00:29:46The unfortunate result of inbreeding.
00:29:50Never mind that now, Bruno. We can go into all of that at the proper time.
00:29:55Let's see. Yes.
00:29:57I would like to know the whereabouts of certain other members of the Mary family.
00:30:01The two sisters of Titus W. Mary and brother named, I believe, Nedrick Mary.
00:30:10If alive.
00:30:12Alive?
00:30:14Well, you might say so, sir.
00:30:16Come on, Bruno. Don't beat around the bush. Are they around or not?
00:30:21They're talking about Uncle Ned.
00:30:24I know.
00:30:25Well, it became necessary to put them in a more private sort of an institution.
00:30:32My good man. Are you saying that you, that the family chauffeur has been in sole charge of this entire estate and these minor children?
00:30:44Oh, I never thought of it that way, sir.
00:30:47You see, I promised the master that...
00:30:49Yeah. Yeah, yeah, we know all about that.
00:30:51Listen, Schlocker, it's been a long trip.
00:30:53I'd like to get cleaned up and get off my feet for a while.
00:30:56We can go through this after dinner.
00:30:59Dinner?
00:31:00Yes, it is dinner time.
00:31:02Matter of fact, Bruno, we intend to spend the night.
00:31:05Oh, no, sir. That's quite impossible. Why, why, we're not prepared for guests.
00:31:12There seems to be a difference of opinion as to who is the guest and who the host here.
00:31:20You do have food in the house, don't you?
00:31:23Why, yes. You see, our diet is very austere. I suppose we could find something.
00:31:34Yes. Yes, I suppose we could.
00:31:49I smell a bug.
00:31:53A big, black, juicy...
00:32:23I'm proud of you, Virginia. You're doing so well.
00:32:41Ralph is ready, Bruno.
00:32:43Oh, thank you, Elizabeth. Bring him right down.
00:32:46My dear, there's no doubt in my mind that we have here an absolutely clear-cut prima facie open and shut case.
00:32:58Great. Now, all I want to know is what is it worth in dollars and cents?
00:33:02Well, that's a little difficult to tell at this juncture.
00:33:07Perhaps with an audit...
00:33:09Miss Morris, give me scheduled B.
00:33:11Oh, right here, Mr. Schlachter.
00:33:12Of course, this is only the visible part of the iceberg, so to speak.
00:33:16With more information, we can project the curve.
00:33:19Hey.
00:33:21Hi, Ralph.
00:33:23Emily, look at Ralph.
00:33:24He's getting all dressed up for us.
00:33:28Oh, yes. Isn't he cute?
00:33:29He's pretty cute.
00:33:49Ladies and gentlemen, dinner is served.
00:33:54Well, at last.
00:33:55Thank you, Virginia.
00:33:56That was very good, Virginia.
00:33:59Can I feed Winifred now?
00:34:01Winifred?
00:34:02Oh, no, no, no.
00:34:03Not now.
00:34:04Can't she wait?
00:34:05If she gets hungry, she'll go looking for something to eat.
00:34:09Oh, oh, oh.
00:34:10In that case, you go right ahead.
00:34:12But hurry up.
00:34:13Hurry up.
00:34:14I will, I will.
00:34:18Uh, hungry, Miss Morris?
00:34:20Oh, yes.
00:34:21I'm famished.
00:34:23Shall we then?
00:34:24Well, uh, there we are.
00:34:27Uh, just sit wherever you like.
00:34:30Uh, we're not very formal here at, uh, Mary House.
00:34:34And we haven't had, uh, guests in a long time.
00:34:37No, it's, it's been a long, long time.
00:34:40Uh, I, I might add that it's a great pleasure.
00:34:43You can sit down now, Ralph.
00:34:48Winifred.
00:35:06Winifred.
00:35:08Winifred.
00:35:09Winifred.
00:35:12Yeah.
00:35:14Unifred.
00:35:15Uh...
00:35:16Uh...
00:35:17Uh...
00:35:23Barney!
00:35:24You came back!
00:35:27You naughty Winifred.
00:35:29You didn't tell me!
00:35:30Virginia?
00:35:32We're waiting for you.
00:35:33for you sit in your chair, Virginia, please.
00:35:51What is that?
00:36:08Well, that's Rabbit. Obviously. Not bad, Bruno. Looks stunned to a turn.
00:36:16Thank you, sir. I hope you enjoy it.
00:36:19You know, we're very fortunate to have meat for our guests.
00:36:22You see, we're vegetarian. Vegetarians?
00:36:26It's dead. We don't eat dead things.
00:36:31But good Lord, man. Why on her?
00:36:34The master. Don't say it. You made a promise.
00:36:37It was no idle whim, I assure you. The master knew of the grave danger.
00:36:42The danger?
00:36:44Yes, Bruno. What is that supposed to mean?
00:36:47Well, the master believed, and he should know,
00:36:50that the eating of flesh would hasten the progress of their condition.
00:36:55No, I've heard everything.
00:36:56Wait a minute, Bruno.
00:36:58Now, you mean like that old story about the lion cub,
00:37:00who's actually tame until he gets his first taste of fresh meat, right?
00:37:04I'm afraid it's even more serious than that, sir.
00:37:08Well, whatever that is. A rabbit or whatever. I pass.
00:37:19Well, it looks good to me.
00:37:21Hey, I'll carve.
00:37:23Thank you, sir. Carry on.
00:37:26Oh, well, I must tell you all, you have Ralph here to thank for providing us.
00:37:31Is that right? Good for you, Ralph.
00:37:34Hey.
00:37:37Well, I'll have something else.
00:37:46What do you call these?
00:37:48Ah, a rare treat. Our favorite dish. We call it souffled fungi.
00:37:55What?
00:37:56Mushroom schlucker.
00:37:58Oh, mushrooms.
00:38:00Yes, a real staple. They grow profusely on the grounds.
00:38:05And, uh, did Ralph?
00:38:08Oh, no, no. Virginia provided these. You see, she has an uncanny knack for picking only the, uh, non-poisonous one.
00:38:17Come on, schlucker. Let's not hog this stuff.
00:38:30Thank you, Uncle Peter.
00:38:35Thank you, Uncle Peter.
00:38:37Hey, schlucker. You certainly can't say they're not polite.
00:38:47Oh, Miss Howe, if you don't feel up to the heavy affair, perhaps you'd like to try some of our fresh garden greens?
00:38:54Yeah, Emily. Here. Try the salad.
00:39:03Allow me.
00:39:08This thing isn't dressed.
00:39:09Isn't Ralph a vegetarian, too?
00:39:20Oh, yes.
00:39:21But Ralph's allowed to eat anything that he catches.
00:39:26No.
00:39:27Hello.
00:39:43Emily, this is very good.
00:39:45You don't know what you're missing.
00:39:47Well, as I told you, our diet is very upstairs.
00:39:51But it's most healthy.
00:39:52You know, that's great.
00:39:53I think everybody ought to eat like that.
00:39:55Oh, we have our delicacies, too.
00:39:57But they're not in season right now.
00:40:05Oh, no, no, sir.
00:40:06You wouldn't want any of that.
00:40:11Oh, no.
00:40:12Well, I guess not.
00:40:29What do you think about spending the night now, Emily?
00:40:33You couldn't drag me away, Peter.
00:40:36Good show, my dear.
00:40:37I'm with you.
00:40:38Oh, it's like I told you, sir.
00:40:40There's nothing more to say, Bruno.
00:40:42Now, let's make things easy on yourself.
00:40:45We want to be fair.
00:40:48The sisters can move in together.
00:40:49And you and Ralph?
00:40:52Well, we might do that.
00:40:56Oh, no, no.
00:40:57It's quite impossible.
00:40:58It's too dangerous.
00:41:00You see, this is an old building.
00:41:03The wood is rotten.
00:41:05You'd have to know your way about in the dark.
00:41:07Nonsense.
00:41:10The next thing you'll tell us, it's haunted.
00:41:12Oh, no, nothing like that.
00:41:14He means they're vampires.
00:41:16Oh, yes, and werewolves.
00:41:19Are you a horror film fan, Miss Morse?
00:41:21Oh, yes, I love it.
00:41:22Dracula, Frankenstein.
00:41:24And the mummy?
00:41:26Oh, the mummy.
00:41:27I love the mummy.
00:41:28The way he walks.
00:41:30Step Scrape.
00:41:32Step Scrape.
00:41:33Oh, and the wolf man.
00:41:34Yeah.
00:41:37There's going to be a full moon tonight.
00:42:04Uh, uh, Mr. Schlocker.
00:42:06I mean, uh, if you don't need me anymore tonight, I could just as well stay in, down and...
00:42:12There's an inn in the village.
00:42:14Um, as I see it, there are only two rooms anyway.
00:42:18Uh, Peter, if you took the car, do you think you could find lodgings for Miss Morse?
00:42:23Yeah, I saw a motel coming in, yeah.
00:42:25Fine, fine.
00:42:26Good idea.
00:42:28Just be sure you have her back on time, young man.
00:42:30Busy day ahead, you know.
00:42:31Don't worry.
00:42:33Thank you, Mr. Howe.
00:42:34You're very welcome.
00:42:37Children, some of our guests are going to stay the night.
00:42:41Would you come help me prepare the rooms?
00:42:44Yes, Bruno.
00:42:50Spider!
00:42:54Got it.
00:42:56It's spiders.
00:42:58We have lots of spiders.
00:43:04Do you like spiders, Mr. Howe?
00:43:07Oh, sure, Virginia.
00:43:08I love spiders.
00:43:10Do you?
00:43:11Would you like to play spider with me?
00:43:13Virginia.
00:43:15Sure.
00:43:16I'll play spider with you.
00:43:18Maybe tomorrow?
00:43:19Mr. Howe.
00:43:20I'm sorry, Mr. Howe, that we couldn't accommodate everyone.
00:43:23But I'll be looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.
00:43:25Me too, Bruno.
00:43:27Thank you, sir.
00:43:28Thank you very much.
00:43:31Good night, kids.
00:43:33Uh, well, Miss Morse, we should be getting an order to start.
00:43:36I'd like that very much, Mr. Howe.
00:43:37Thank you very much, Mr. Howe.
00:43:50This is the phoniest setup I've ever seen.
00:43:54There is something terribly wrong here.
00:44:00And I intend to find out exactly what it is.
00:44:05There we go.
00:44:10Say, it's, uh, still early, Miss Morse.
00:44:15Perhaps you'd like to have a drink at that inn in the village that Bruno mentioned?
00:44:20I'd like that very much, Mr. Howe.
00:44:22Oh, and maybe a sandwich if you don't mind.
00:44:40Virginia.
00:44:41Virginia.
00:44:44Virginia.
00:44:46Oh, shh.
00:44:49Are you going to give Daddy good night?
00:44:51Mm-hmm.
00:44:52Elizabeth.
00:44:54Are you scared?
00:44:56Scared of what?
00:44:58You know, those people.
00:45:02I hate them.
00:45:04You're not supposed to hate.
00:45:06You should, too.
00:45:08They don't like spiders.
00:45:09I know.
00:45:14That little man looks just like a big, fat bug, doesn't he?
00:45:21Yes.
00:45:23He does.
00:45:27You know what I'd like to do?
00:45:33Is it really lots of fun playing spiders?
00:45:35Virginia.
00:45:38You bet.
00:45:52I'm coming to tuck you in, Daddy.
00:45:53Nighty-night, Daddy.
00:46:02Nighty-night, Daddy.
00:46:04Nighty, Daddy.
00:46:19It's a fruitific, no matter who is here ingest.
00:46:21A fruitific, yes, I will dive in seriously.
00:46:24It's a fruit graph.
00:46:27At that point in decisions, it's the one who wants to wait new flying.
00:46:29Oh, my God.
00:46:59Oh, my God.
00:47:29Oh, my God.
00:47:59Oh, my God.
00:48:29Oh, my God.
00:48:59Oh, my God.
00:49:29Oh, my God.
00:49:59Oh, my God.

00:56:29Oh, my God.
00:56:59Oh, my God.
00:57:29Oh, my God.
00:57:59Oh, my God.
00:58:29Oh, my God.
00:58:59Oh, my God.
00:59:29Oh, my God.
00:59:59Oh, my God.
01:00:29Oh, my God.
01:00:59Oh, my God.
01:01:29Oh, my God.
01:01:59Oh, my God.
01:02:29Oh, my God.
01:02:59Oh, my God.
01:03:01Oh, my God.
01:03:29Oh, my God.
01:03:59Oh, my God.
01:04:29Oh, my God.
01:04:31Oh, my God.
01:04:59Hey, are you really a wolf fan, a wolf-man-fan, Anne?
01:05:06Oh, yes. I think that's how every man should be, like a wild beast.
01:05:20No vacancy again. That's the last one, Anne.
01:05:24There isn't another town for 50 miles.
01:05:27I guess we shouldn't have spent all that time at the village inn.
01:05:31I didn't realize how late it was getting.
01:05:33You lose count, they keep taking away the glasses.
01:05:36What was that?
01:05:37I know, but I remember exactly how many.
01:05:41Listen, there's nothing we can do except go back and spend the night with Emily and Schlocker.
01:05:57Cut it.
01:06:01I'm sorry.
01:06:03I'm sorry.
01:06:04I'm sorry!
01:06:05Get out of here!
01:06:06Oh, okay!
01:06:07Come here!
01:06:08Come here!
01:06:09Come here!
01:06:40Spiders aren't supposed to eat other spiders.
01:06:54Cannibal spiders do.
01:07:10Bruno! Bruno!
01:07:20He doesn't sound like Bruno.
01:07:23Oh no, it's Uncle Peter and that pretty lady.
01:07:26They'd come back.
01:07:28Virginia, you mustn't hurt anyone else.
01:07:31Bruno will really hate you.
01:07:33He will not.
01:07:35Anyway, I like Uncle Peter.
01:07:37He's not like that bad man.
01:07:40All the same, they'll tell on us.
01:07:42Would they?
01:07:44Would they tell?
01:07:47Of course they'll tell.
01:07:49Bruno said there'd be others, didn't they?
01:07:53They're coming. What'll we do?
01:07:58We'll have to make a plan.
01:08:08Somebody's up and about.
01:08:10Good.
01:08:11I hope it's not that Ralph.
01:08:13Oh, Ralph's just a big kid.
01:08:15Do you really think so?
01:08:16Sure.
01:08:17Sure.
01:08:41Hi kid.
01:08:42Uh, hey, it looks as if Miss Morris and I are going to have to spend the night here after all.
01:08:48No room at the inn, as they say.
01:08:50Good evening, Uncle Peter.
01:08:55Uh-huh.
01:09:00Uh, is Mr. Bruno about?
01:09:02No, no, he's away.
01:09:05Won't you come in?
01:09:06Yes.
01:09:07Do come in.
01:09:09Huh?
01:09:11How about Aunt Emily?
01:09:12Is he around?
01:09:13Shh.
01:09:14Shh.
01:09:19Oh, shh.
01:09:20Shh.
01:09:22Shh.
01:09:23There's really no need to disturb anyone.
01:09:25Alrighty.
01:09:26When does Mr. Bruno get back?
01:09:28Shh.
01:09:29He'll be along by and by.
01:09:31Now, Uncle Peter, you just make yourself right at home.
01:09:36Uh, Virginia, dear.
01:09:38You may entertain Uncle Peter while I take care of the pretty lady.
01:09:44Uh.
01:09:45Uh.
01:09:46It's all right.
01:09:48It's all right.
01:09:50I'm sure Elizabeth, uh, knows what to do.
01:09:54Well, if you really think so.
01:09:56Sure.
01:09:57Listen, Emily is very easy to get along with.
01:10:00When she's asleep.
01:10:01Uh.
01:10:02Well, that won't be necessary.
01:10:04And we'll have Daddy's room.
01:10:08It's really very nice.
01:10:10There you go.
01:10:11See?
01:10:13Thank you, Elizabeth.
01:10:14You're really very kind.
01:10:19Well.
01:10:21Good night.
01:10:22Yeah.
01:10:24See you in the morning.
01:10:25Mm-hmm.
01:10:28It's awfully nice.
01:10:30And this way, pretty lady.
01:10:37I'm glad you came back.
01:10:41I like you.
01:10:47I like you, too.
01:10:55You're a nice lady.
01:11:00I liked you right away.
01:11:02You're not like those others.
01:11:04Oh, Virginia likes you, too.
01:11:06And Ralph.
01:11:08We all like you.
01:11:10And Uncle Peter, too.
01:11:16You'd never tell.
01:11:18No matter what Bruno says.
01:11:25You'd never tell.
01:11:27I know you wouldn't.
01:11:29I like you, pretty lady.
01:11:32Pretty lady.
01:11:33I like you.
01:11:34Pretty lady.
01:11:38Oh, my God.
01:12:08And the big black spider goes round and round and wraps the bug all up on her spider web.
01:12:17Virginia, what happens when the spider gets the bug all wrapped up in a web?
01:12:25Aha. I won't tell.
01:12:28Ah, all right.
01:12:31How long is it going to play this game?
01:12:33Oh, we're almost done.
01:12:34Oh, great.
01:12:36Oh, there now.
01:12:42Hey.
01:12:45Virginia.
01:12:54Hey, what's the spider, what's the spider do now?
01:12:57What?
01:12:58Oh, yes.
01:13:00Um, now the spider does a little dance for the bug.
01:13:05She has to tease him, to him.
01:13:09And make him work.
01:13:12So that his juice will taste better.
01:13:15Virginia, I think we'd better play another game.
01:13:23Uncle Peter, do you like that pretty lady?
01:13:28Yes.
01:13:29Yes, I do.
01:13:30Do you like me?
01:13:46Uh, when does Mr. Bruno come back?
01:13:51Bruno won't hate me.
01:13:53He promised.
01:13:53Spiders like bugs.
01:14:00They taste good.
01:14:07But I guess bugs don't like spiders very much.
01:14:10I like spiders.
01:14:12I like spiders.
01:14:13I do, too.
01:14:16Well.
01:14:21I guess I have to sting you now.
01:14:23You have to what?
01:14:32Uh, Virginia, what about Mr. Schlocker?
01:14:34Mr. Schlocker?
01:14:36Hey, Schlocker!
01:14:37Sting!
01:14:38Well, I have to go away for a minute.
01:14:52But I'll be right back.
01:14:57Don't go away, bug.
01:14:59What are we going to do with her?
01:15:09Ralph can't let go.
01:15:11I...
01:15:12What do you mean, what are we going to do with her?
01:15:19Don't you know?
01:15:20You made this plan.
01:15:21But I didn't have enough time to finish it.
01:15:23She wiggles, just like a big squiggly bug in a spiderweb.
01:15:35Hmm.
01:15:37Uncle Ned could make her quiet.
01:15:40No.
01:15:41Bruno would be very mad.
01:15:43Anyway, Ralph likes her, see?
01:15:47We mustn't hurt her.
01:15:50Just make her quiet.
01:15:53Now, Spider is very clever.
01:16:02She very cleverly drains the vital juices from the bug's body.
01:16:12And that makes the bug stop squiggling.
01:16:17Would that make her stop squiggling?
01:16:20Help me find something sharp.
01:16:27We'll see you, Mr.
01:16:28Luke.
01:16:31Oh, my God.
01:17:01Ralph.
01:17:04Hold her still.
01:17:08All I want to do is make a little teeny cut.
01:17:11How much did we let Ren out?
01:17:15Just enough to make her quiet.
01:17:18Then Ralph can play with her better.
01:17:22Then Ralph can play with her better.
01:17:25Just enough to make her quiet.
01:17:27Then Ralph can play with her better.
01:17:29Ah!
01:17:31Ah!
01:17:33Oh!
01:17:47Well, Ralph.
01:17:50Emily?
01:17:52Well, hi, Al.
01:17:54Emily!
01:17:58Al.
01:18:00No, no, Emily, I'm in here.
01:18:02Where you been?
01:18:04For heaven's sake, give me a hand.
01:18:06That little fiend tied me up.
01:18:08I'm coming, Al. Hold on!
01:18:38Let's go!
01:19:08Help me!
01:19:24Help!
01:19:32Help!
01:19:34Help me!
01:19:36Children.
01:19:45That lady hurt Ralph.
01:19:47Ralph will be all well.
01:19:49Very soon.
01:19:54I promise you, Ralph, you'll be right back.
01:19:57You'll be right back.
01:19:59You'll be right back.
01:20:01You'll be right back.
01:20:03Very soon.
01:20:05I brought that wonderful surprise I promised you.
01:20:15Let me see, let me see, what is this?
01:20:20This is a secret surprise.
01:20:33Oh, sir, I don't know how you got yourself into this predicament, but I suggest that you leave the premises as quickly as possible.
01:20:49Where's Ann?
01:20:51Ann, where's Ann?
01:20:53If I were you, I'd hurry, sir.
01:20:55I'm hurry, sir.
01:20:57I'm hurry, sir.
01:20:59I'm hurry, sir.
01:21:01I'm hurrying.
01:21:12I'm hurrying.
01:21:19I'm hurrying.
01:21:20What's it going to do, Bruno?
01:21:33Well, it's going to make a big flash and go bang.
01:21:38Oh, boy.
01:21:46Lookie.
01:21:47Uncle Ned.
01:22:12Yes, it was quite an amazing experience.
01:22:14But for me, anyway, a lot of good came of this.
01:22:21Being the only survivor, naturally, I inherited the wealth of the Marys, which later turned out to be quite vast.
01:22:30More important than that, though, my wife.
01:22:36That's our daughter, Jessica.
01:22:43Mommy, may I go outside now?
01:22:48Well, all right, Jessica, dear.
01:22:50But be sure and come back into the house if it starts raining again.
01:22:52Oh, I will, Mommy.
01:23:08And so the Marys Syndrome was extinguished forever with the family that carried it.
01:23:14Uh, my own branch of the family, being rather distant, we never suffered from the, uh, curse.
01:23:23Good.
01:23:30All right.
01:23:36Good.
01:23:46Good.
01:23:47Good.
01:23:50THE END
01:24:20THE END
