00:00when we spoke last week joe bellingham had decided he wanted to go to borussia dortmund so we kind of
00:06knew that it was probably going to happen at some point it has since happened um for a fee
00:12around the region of 30 million quid with the selling included what's your initial kind of
00:17reaction a day on from from belliam's exit being confirmed yeah it's a weird one this isn't it
00:24because i kind of feel that it's been so long in the often and it became such an inevitability that
00:32i almost like steeled myself against it i mean like i'm not necessarily as uh as gutted by this
00:39as i would have uh expected myself to be i think that obviously you know from a footballing point
00:46of view it's going to be a big loss to sunderland's we know how pivotal he was um in in that promotion
00:53campaign we've seen how much he's grown and matured and the trajectory that he's been on over these
00:58past two years and so obviously you know there are it's it's a big vacuum that some are going to have
01:04to fill in the middle of the park from a business standpoint um i think some of them have done a
01:10really good job to be perfectly honest with you obviously we've spoken so much about the the model
01:15and and you know how this is arguably one of the best illustrations of it in practice and how
01:21successful it can be when you think about how much job came in for think about how much he's
01:25contributed to the side over the course of his time at the club and then you think about the
01:29fact that he's leaving for um for a club record fee or what should become a club record fee with add-ons
01:37jordan pickford was around that mark wasn't he but it will probably end up eclipsing that
01:41um and so in that sense i think that some of them really have to be commended you know that they
01:46dug their heels in they made it clear that they wanted a little bit more money than dortmund were
01:51initially stumping up um but they've held the ground they've done really well and i think that
01:56from the player's point of view it feels like a good next step in his career you know we've all seen
02:03how talented he is we know that there's the association between the bellingham family
02:08and dortmund as a club um and it does feel as if it's it's maybe one of those deals in a quite a rare
02:16thing in football but where all parties kind of come out of it feeling like they're they're in a good
02:22place at the other side of it
